[LFP] [CoC 7e] Ongoing game looking for players - CALL OF CTHULHU: HOT NIGHTS

Because of recent player losses, me and the group are currently looking for ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATORS to fill in and help investigate away in the Himalayan mountains of Chile. As of now we play on SUNDAYS, 18:00 GMT, using Discord for voice/notes, and Roll20 for maps and dice. The year is 1924. Somewhere in the Andes mountains of Chile something wicked is brewing. There have been rumours of an unknown animal rampaging through the area, supposedly wiping out entire villages and eluding any attempts at catching or killing it. With this massacre going unhindered old myths and secrets are starting to surface from the indigenous people of the area. Naturally this has led to a series of investigators, be they archaeologists, journalists, hunters, or others coming to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. Yet word is spreading that some of these expeditions have also gone missing- Especially those looking into a strange and recently uncovered archaeological dig-site.. Will you join them in a mysterious disappearance, or get to the bottom of what is happening? Applying for this game, you'd be joining a few of my more long-term players who are pursuing their investigation. The plan is for you to pursue your own goal- with which how things are going, will end up with you joining arms with the current investigators against a common foe. Who are you? A foreign survivor from one of the ravaged explorer groups, hoping to find out what happened to your fellows? One of the indigenous natives of the Chilean mountains, fed up with the indifference of your tribal peers in the face of danger? Or perhaps one of the locals, who feels and knows that an insidious influence is seeping forth from those mountains, attempting to grasp the entire South American continent? To apply, just post something nice about yourself that'll convince me you're a good pick to have in the group! Character concepts, experiences, or just good qualities!
Hey it's Chowder, you know me, I've got experience with tabletop games, looking to learn CoC. I really do enjoy tentacles, so this is perfect for me.
Hello! My name is Varian and while I am inexperienced with CoC, I am an avid DnD/Pathfinder player who takes very good notes! I’m highly dedicated to keeping track of character knowledge, clues, relationships, etc. I get very invested in my character usually with full on journals and Spotify playlists.  I can also draw well enough to create art, which I’ve done for some of my own DMing, as well as for fellow players.  Thank you for the opportunity :)
uh oh stinky, i want to play misterbister

Hey There!  I'm Bex! I'm pretty down-to-earth and love creating stories with people which is why I love role-paying so much. I have a vast experience of actual role-playing and some dming from D&D from 3rd edition, 3.5 and 5th, as well as Star Wars edge of the Empire & the Star Wars d20, Cyberpunk, & Shadowrun. I am really interested in a call of Cthulhu game but to be honest I have never played the rpg. I have the 7th edition book which I have read through in thoughts of maybe dming a group of my friends before the pandemic hit, but I have played mansions of madness, and arkham horror, and love the mythos! Something interesting or good quality is I like fully immersing myself into a character. I will try out an accent, (not always very good but its a work in progress) give my character quirks to make them unique, and flaws which gives room for the character to grow and develop. I have a couple different character ideas in mind just from your description so hopefully I will get to test them out!! Editing because just wanted to post the character I am seeing most in my mind at the moment. I see an investigative reporter from the U.S. South. A southern belle type, bit of a fish out of water but a good journalist with a nose for a story.  Thanks so much for your consideration!!
I'm interested - a bit of background about me - I am a huge Call of Cthulhu fan, and have largely spent most of my time as a GM though.  I've been playing CoC since second Edition and have a large collection of various editions, guides, campaigns, adventures and supplements - and currently also am running a CoC campaign on Tuesday and Thursday nights - but have only ever been a player for something like three or four sessions.  In fact most of my RPG life has been more recently GMing and I really fancy a change to playing. I would be interested in playing an Ethno-Anthropologist from the University of Arkham, who is studying the indigenous Kolla, studying local medical herbs and collecting oral traditional histories of the extinct nations of the Chango and Cunco tribal peoples

I'd be interested in joining! I'm Jay, 25, and I've been playing CoC for about three years. Strong roleplay and good horror are choice. For my character, I'd roll with a hunter and guide from Australia, somebody who's been around South America before. Catching wind of a mysterious animal massacreing people in the mountains, he'd see it as a chance to bag some kind of legendary game and land his name in the history books like the great Victorian huntsmen of Africa. I'm curious why the players dropped out though. Was it just a scheduling thing?
