What's your experience?  Have you downloaded the free PDFs from dndclassics.com?  My suggestion is to start off with  D&D 4.0 (Essentials if you can).

Well there is this D&D group at my school that i joined but it is not going anywhere. Its made me think about creating my own group and learning to become GM. I've also been watching people play D&D online for the past couple months. Btw do you have a group that i could join?

Sam, if you can, I would get the Dungeons and Dragons Red Box from a local game store or online.  I think it is a good starting point. A walkthrough with someone experienced (like Michael) is probably the best route.  I can also do it.  I am in GMT Zone +2.  Send me a private message if you need to. Happy trails.
