VTT Slow Laggy Peak time related?

Our group, and especially myself as the GM have noticed huge slowdowns in the last 3-4 weeks. Yep I've cleared my cache, I've disabled my anti virus. I've switched from Chrome to Firefox, tried both. I'm running as the GM on a desktop wired to the router with a 400 down 20 up connection. Our game is on friday night (more on this later). In firefox I have two extensions Beyond 20 and Lastpass (because I have to login to all these sites). Yes I've seen the suggestion to disable lastpass. Thanks. We were running Wildemounte, now running Tomb of Annihilation. Yes lots of maps, handouts and such. Sorry if I can't run modules I purchase here because they platform doesn't support them, then I want my money back. So don't tell me to delete/archive things from a campaign that I bought here, and is less than a month of playing. We are using lighting and fog of war as those come with the maps. If I can't use those features... again.. why are they there if the platform can't handle it, remove them and stop selling them. Paid membership if that matters. Here is what I notice... right now, its Monday midday, I open the game, just myself. Seams running fine. I can make a character, move it around click and edit it quick and easy. I can't get all my players on Monday midday to test. Last Thursday and Friday I was in as the GM during the day. Thursday day seamed ok. Friday day things got progressively slower over the course of the day and then in the evening it was not usable. I ended up just doing role play with no maps and minimal rolls, luckily we weren't in a place that maps and dice were in heavy need. We had audio and video disabled for several weeks. Anyone else noticed this trend? I'm very frustrated and about to pull the plug on roll20 and look for another solution.
We play on Wednesdays at 8PM BST and I would say we have voice and video glitches for the first half hour every session without fail. We also have regular issues with maps loading very slowly for some players and others getting glitches where they are unable to see/hear some players but can see others fine.  It has seemed even more unreliable of late, i guess its being used a great deal more.
Yes my group has noticed performance problems, as well. We play Monday and Wednesday nights at 7 PM CST/CDT.
Yep, Friday nights are brutal. Last Friday, I was trying to run macros that had API calls to scripts. Nothing but problems. They could take up to 30 seconds to run (when it should have been instant), and even when it did run, it didn't necessarily function as expected. Sometimes the API would crash, sometimes the script simply didn't do what it was intended to do. Try the same thing Saturday morning to try and troubleshoot the issues.....only to discover the 'issues' were completely gone. Opinion/personal conclusion: the server load on Friday nights is causing huge performance issues. Unfortunately, this is the only night we can play. If picking up and changing platforms was anything that resembled easy, I'd have switched. As a paying player (for 5 years now), I would have hoped that paying players get some sort of priority sandbox that is (hopefully) less subject to the huge influx of new players (whom I'm guessing are mostly at the Free level of subscription, but I could be wrong). But that does not seem to be the case. I guess we just hope for a COVID vaccine really, really soon (unlikely at best) so that all those new players go away, back to their face-to-face games??  Doesn't seem optimal, but after 3 months of performance issues it doesn't seem like the issues are going away any other way.
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. Wonder why the paying members can't access to some better performance during prime time.

I don't think the system is structured that way. There aren't "paying servers" and "non-paying servers" to my knowledge to give heightened access to. And moving a game from one server to another would likely cause issues with API settings, from what I've been given to understand.
Same problem here.  Even Monday nights I'm lagging like crazy. 800mb down 200mb upload speeds.  And a fully built PC that I use to run racing sims in VR with at max settings with a full motion platform.  Something like Roll20 should not be able to bog my system down the way it does.
Ditto. We run on Saturday nights and its horrible. Except for dynamic lighting, we aren't using anything fancy. Audio and video are handled outside Roll20. Its so bad, I'm strongly considering switching to a different VTT.
Also having issues, no problem running tarkov or similar gmaes but struggling with Roll20 at the minute
yes.  My connection is OK most of the week when I am setting things up alone.  We play on Friday night and suddenly I can't move maps and voice is iffy.  I thought maybe it was a bandwidth or connection issue for my computer but other party members are also having trouble.  Hoping that 20 fixes this soon.
