SoundCloud is great, but let's face it, the sound effects part is severely lacking. Freesound.org has bajillions of sound effects. There is bound to be an API out there somewhere with which to interface. give it a thought.
if this forum had an upvote system, i'd give you a thousand. I still standby my statement, as it will be easier to find things now that I know what to search for, with freesound.org, I don't have to know. For example, I needed a boiling cauldron sound. They have 20 some odd boiling sounds, just as an example. Thank you for this list though. +1 internets to you.
I've actually grabbed some sound fxs from freesound (heck, you can even search for stuff under creative commons 0 license so no copyright worries!) and uploaded them to soundcloud for use. A direct line would be pretty great.
exactly. I too have had to search for copyright free sounds on freesounds.org, download them, then upload them to soundcloud.com, and import them into my game. it's a bit cumbersome.
