We are looking for two more players for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist.
We're currently eight sessions in, with the party performing nightly
patrols of the City of the Dead looking for signs of necromancers.

About
Me:
My name is Josh, I use he or they
pronouns. I have ten years of DM experience overall, and I've spent
the last five years on a long-form D&D3.5 campaign, plus various
one-shots, adventures, and modules sprinkled throughout. Most of my
time has been spent in D&D 3.5, but I also have plenty of
experience with D&D 5e and Pathfinder. I have worked with both
newcomers and veterans, and have helped a good many new players
figure out and become comfortable with the rules. I emphasize the
group storytelling aspect of tabletop: I'm here to help the party
tell their story, and look good while they do it.
The
Campaign:
This will be a
campaign that generally follows the main story beats of the
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist adventure module, which I have run before.
There will be expansions, additions, and improvisations to exactly
how it goes, to better suit group interests. Expect the Roleplay pillar to receive a heavier chunk of time than usual, and for Exploration to take on a more investigative appearance. This is a campaign of intrigue and sleuthing, more than dungeon diving.
From the official roll20 blurb for the
book:
WELCOME TO WATERDEEP!
A fantastic treasure trove is yours for the taking in
this adventure for the world's greatest roleplaying game.
Famed explorer Volothamp Geddarm needs you to complete a
simple quest. Thus begins a mad romp through the wards of Waterdeep
as you uncover a villainous plot involving some of the city’s most
influential figures.
A grand urban caper awaits you. Pit your skill and
bravado against villains the likes of which you’ve never faced
before, and let the dragon hunt begin!
Schedule:
We will meet once per week, Saturday from 3-6PM EDT (7-10UTC).
Sessions will be three hours long, likely with a five minute break in
the middle of each. I expect this will last for 6 months to a year.
Rules
and Expectations:
We will be using Discord for voice
communication. Be decent. This campaign will be LGBT+
friendly. There will be zero tolerance for sexism, homophobia,
transphobia, ableism, racism, and other forms of bigotry. Players of any level of experience are
welcome. Whether you've been playing since AD&D or this is your
first foray into tabletop, you are welcome to join this campaign.
Just be ready and able to invest yourself and try. I will accommodate
for newer or less-experienced players, to help get them caught up. No homebrew content will be allowed for
character creation. All official WotC content will be allowed. This
includes Unearthed Arcana content, with the caveat: all UA content
must be checked with the DM ahead of time. Engage. Tell me,
or the group, what you as a player and as a character want out of
this campaign and world. Help us all, as a group, to tell a
meaningful story. Regular
attendance will be expected but not required. I respect that
sometimes life happens, especially
in the current global pandemic situation. Sometimes sessions
will be missed. This is okay. However,
this is a paid group activity wherein your presence or absence will
affect the dynamic, so I ask that you do your best to attend every
session, and let us know as far in advance of an absence as you can.
If you have paid for a session that you miss, your payment can either
be applied to the next session you attend or refunded to you, your
choice.
