RIFTS groups?

I can't find anyone to play it with. There are quite literally NO GROUPS for palladium games. Anyone else interested?
oh there are people who play it. :)
There Are a few palladium games here on roll20 but pal players haven't moved over to roll20 yet.
Would love to see more Rifts (or Palladium games in general) on here.Have been wanting to run a Rifts game on here, possibly even using the GURPS rules in the Rifts setting but I cannot commit to such an endeavor currently sadly. I would be very interested in spectating anything Palladium though. Not enough actual play content online for this stuff it seems. -watching this thread-
there are a few RIFTS games floating around. So few people are willing to GM the game is all, takes an IMMENSE amount of books, and is one hell of a balancing act.

There's a scarcity of willing GM's period, and Rifts doesn't share the popularity of the myriad editions of DnD, or the two World of Darkness settings.
I have tried to run it, but honestly, the system IMO is straight up busted as is, and the rules are very poorly written across the massive amount of books there are out there...It is a fantastic setting, and there is a possibility I could try and run a Rifts game on here...Just have to deal with the bustedness some how some way.
I was working on an Ore-rifts conversion a while back. my friend was trying out FATE for the conversation, too. Ultimately the problem comes down to the whole spells-powers system. Rifts is attractive mainly because of the sheer number of volumes. the world is gigantic, and there are tons of options. There are so many different kinds of spell-casters that it's insane, and each one has different rules so that they actually handle differently. This is what we love about rifts. that there is so much to do and it's all so unique. this is also why every conversion fails, why it's so impossible to GM and why RIfts gets so little love. if anyone wants to give GMing it a go i'd play in any rifts game or conversion. my honest opinion, though is that basic palladium is probobally the best call with a GM and players who understand that it's just not going to be balanced and want to play anyway.
I too have been looking for a Rifts game (in fact it why i joined this site). i have not run a Rifts game in a decade but it was never that hard in my experience, Just keep in mind the rules are a guide line to the story do not get tied down in them, shout from the hip more and you be fine. thou as i am relay new hear i am not sure ho accommodating D20 systems would be for that. that being seid i would love to see how one world work.
I would love to play in a rifts game. A very long time ago. I created rifts characters for a d&d next game.
Rifts is actually my go-to setting for my games IRL but I typically go for FATE rules. It would require players with the right mindset to make FATE or GURPS work in the setting (munchkins need not apply, etc.). I could be persuaded to give it a go at running a game, though I'd put a lot of restrictions on source books and character types and I'd want to collaborate with each player on their character concepts.
I've been toying with Mutants & Masterminds as a ruleset for a Rifts conversion. Kind of threads the needle between GURPS and FATE, I think, in level of crunchiness. But, I haven't found a ton of folks who are that nostalgic for the setting.
I was never a fan of the Palladium game system, save for it's percentile based skills. Combat is a nightmare and unbalanced. (a knife and a .32 Pistol doing same damage? What?)
Matthew W, if you run a rifts game please let me know.
finally some talk about Rifts. lol

Looks like there's a bunch of interest. I'll put up a campaign and see who signs up: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/14349/rifts-custom-fate-rules" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/14349/rifts-custom-fate-rules</a> Sign up is currently closed.
If anyone is working on a Rifts/Palladium character sheet let me know :D By the way we play rifts twice a week - one game is full the other is just starting out and on training wheels... Yes, Rifts usually requires a few house rules to balance some stuff out a bit but it's such a loose system it is fairly easy to balance.

Where was all you guys 2 months ago when we was looking for rifts players :P And I got a Rifts sheet, if you want a copy of the code you can have it. Be warned though, its probably a mess if you know html/css and the ugliest coding you've seen. As I was learning it as I went along the week I was making the sheet.. Here is what part of it looks like. <a href="http://i.imgur.com/dPSQNS3.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://i.imgur.com/dPSQNS3.jpg</a>

That sheet looks awesome! Any chance of adding it to the community sheets? Not a mentor (although considering it) so it would be great if added to the sheet list. Could I press you to add a race section in the top and SDC under Hit points? :D

I would add it to the community sheets, but it uses a lot of house rules (why no SDC, we combine them into one stat, and the movment rates and such). And its mostly frankensteined together ugly code until I got it working..lol I wouldn't have the time or html/css knowledge most likely to keep it up with fixes and requests if it was public. If someone else wants the html and css code and do it, Im more than happy to share it.
that is a very good sheet.
My friends and I play Robotech, it works out okay.
RIFTS (even in combination with Heroes Unlmt or Nightbane) would be great if offered. I'd gladly join a game!

I could talk to my group see if they are up for more Rifts players joining. If they are, and you are ok with semi-sandboxy based type games where the party gets: "Here is the situation around you at the moment, whats going on in the world around you that you know about, and up to you guys to work out how to approach it, and if its even important to the big picture or you" type games..You are welcome to join us. Not everyone likes playing that style... I GM like people play sim city :P. I make the world details, kick it in motion, let the players lose in it and make the world react and change as they move about. No premade 'storyline' as such. or clear pre defined goal to work towards to start with.
