You notice a flyer on the bulletin board at work: Stop what you're doing and pay attention. Do you want to earn financial freedom and an incredible passive income with little to no effort? Well, look no further... Acquisitions Incorporated is opening a new franchise location here in Waterdeep! We're looking for a new batch of sub-employees who are thirsty for adventure and seek career-related experience over the hassles of a regular paycheck. For more information on how wealth reappropriation (dungeon delving) could change your lifestyle dramatically, please submit a TPS report (with the correct cover sheet attached) and report to Jim at the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep's Castle Ward next Ninthday around brunch for more information. -Jim Darkmagic About the GM and the game: I'm an Occupational Therapist and Board Gamer in Southern California. I'm also a dad, so my gaming happens in the blissful me-time after bedtime - 8PM PDT. Since my weekly board game group was put on hiatus status due to Covid, I've started GMing D&D online for my friends. My game is rules light, role-play heavy, easy going, and silly. I prefer for my players to think, interact, and problem solve before slinging swords and spells. Despite the fact that I'm new at this, I'm having a blast and my players seem to be having fun so far. I'm currently looking to start a second D&D 5e game that is easy going, light hearted, and funny. The setting will be Waterdeep and the Sword Coast using parts of the Waterdeep: Dragon Heist module. The Acquisitions Incorporated crew will likely appear as NPCs. Shenanigans will ensue. I'm committed to being prepared with game and story content weekly and on-time. I'll be patient with new players and don't expect them to be experienced. I don't have the core rulebooks memorized, and I may make the occasional rules mistake. Just go with it... it'll be a fun adventure nonetheless. I'm looking for newer players (not experienced rules-lawyers) who can create new level 1 characters and are ready to commit to a weekly adventure. Make your characters simple, but with a personality, using standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) for stats. People like myself, who are a bit older and revisiting/new to D&D due to Covid, would be perfect. I prefer to play with professional, mature adults, but I'm open to try playing with anyone as long as they refrain from discriminatory or disrespectful language (Hating goblins in-game is okay of course - you know what I mean). I saw this on another GM's post and it's on point (Thanks, Alex S.), so I'll just quote it directly since I feel the same way: "I ask that everyone is respectful of each other, and I have zero tolerance for any kind of racism, sexism, or any discrimination of any other kind. I reserve the right to remove any player exhibiting hateful behavior from the game." Our first session will be a “Session Zero” on Thursday, July 30th from 8-11PM PDT (if we need to go that late). We’ll have a general Q and A, technical troubleshooting, character creation help, and just an informal chat to see if the group is for you. Keep in mind, this will be my first time GMing for non-personal friends and it will be a light-hearted adventure as opposed to a combat-heavy grind. Let me know if you'd like to explore Waterdeep with me!
