"Not authorized to post" - unable to send private messages

Hello,  When I try to send a private message, I am able to fill in the content. As soon as I click send however, I arrive at a new page that states "I am unauthorized to post." I have tried every trouble shooting step I could find on the internet. Clearing my catche, removing chrome extentions, dowloaded firefox, attempted on 3 different computers, etc. How is the UI this bad? I see a lot of different people posting about this. Please help.  Edit: It magically got fixed in less than half an hour after I posted on the forums. My friend's account is still unable to post. I suspect if she add a message to the forums, her problem will magically get resolved as well.  Best,  J

To be clear, I've tried contacting different people. Also, a friend who lives with me also can't send private messages and has also tried contacting different people. 

Are you getting a CAPTCHA box ("I am not a robot?"). That happens to me every once in a while and usually clears up after an hour or two.

I'm also having this problem when trying to send private messages.  I get the CAPTCHA on forum posts like this one, but not on private messages. Google Chrome Version 83.0.4103.116 (Official Build) (64-bit)
