Gifs in Chat

Hello all, I am a new DM but have a few sessions under my belt in Roll20. I saw a produce call Animated Spells by the Deck of Many (Digital) and I was wondering how Roll20 would handle gifs in-game. I don't want to buy the product if Roll20 can't handle the product in chat. Does anyone know how this would work? Has anyone used this product inside Roll20 before? Any help is appreciated. 

You can use any animated gif in chat with something like: [x]( <a href="http://some.url/on/the/internet" rel="nofollow">http://some.url/on/the/internet</a> #.png) The x won't show up (might be an alt tag), the #.png on the end forces it to be recognized as an image.

We have gifs in our SportsBrawl sheet as well as the output for item boxes in our games :)
