Following Token Movement When Moving with Arrow Keys

My players really like to move their tokens with the arrow keys. It's easier to keep track of how many spaces they can move as well as just not wanting to use their mouses. The problem is when you move your tokens with the arrow keys the screen doesn't follow forcing you to have to move your screen every so often. I know this really isn't that big of a deal, but the option to lock your screen centered on your character token would be nice. PS The ability to group multiple tokens to move would also be nice. One of my players (a druid in a 3.5e campaign) has an animal companion, a mount (that she uses in combat), as well as her normal character and she plans on training more animals, the problem comes when it is time to move tokens around the map. Even better would be a way to make one token follow the other just one step behind.
The first part would be cool, I don't know much about programing but it does sound like that would take a fair bit. The second part I know you mentioned not using a mouse, but in case you were not aware you can right now select multiple tokens by dropping a box around them like in a RTS. Once you have the multiple tokens selected you can still use the arrow keys for movement.
I agree with Lance D.'s first thought, auto scrolling of the map with arrow key movement. I've been thinking that a more advanced version of the second idea, grouping in a marching order, would be a great addition. Essentially you could group several tokens "in marching order" so that they followed the lead token(s). It would help with dynamic lighting during non combat movement. Rather than having my players randomly moving their players about and reshuffling when the move up 30 or 60 feet we could move the lead token(s) and the others follow dynamically. This would give a strong visual effect in dynamic lighting of a party moving through a dark dungeon and keep everyone together as they normally would be.
I do that now, just form up the marching order and drag the group around, sometimes you wind up picking up things, with amusing results. "OK, it is Bob, Bernie, Sue, a rock, then Fred".

+1. I've been wanting the ability to keep movement tracking with keyboard movement as well as auto-scrolling during movement. It forces me to move my character and my map anytime I move. Either way I move my token, I have to use my mouse to scroll my map. Maybe a quick/dirty solution would be the ability to bind a hotkey to automatically center your primary token.
I do the highlight the group and move them thing but sometimes they are going through tight tunnels. The group needs to turn but with them highlighted they are locked in a straight line.
