New, Newer, and Newish Players wanted. Fantasy Campaign set in Wildemount, lightly home-brewed to keep it fresh and moderate RP. Sessions on Saturdays.

First Time DM, lover of the game and lore. I enjoy helping new players learn the finer details of DnD including strategy and Role Play. So, I finally pulled the trigger and have been writing my first campaign. Hidden Daggers . Hidden Daggers is a 3 Part long-form Campaign that begins with Level 1 characters. The focus will be on Role Playing, but will also heavily involve combat and strategy. The Campaign is designed for new players with leveling based upon milestones and skills/feats/spells are typically gained through training. The overall goal of the system is to encourage determined movement throughout Wildemount, with refrain from Murder Hoboeing. Players will be encouraged to take rests and determine what needs to be done next. If a character pushes too hard without stopping to get better gear or learn new skills, they are going to have a hard time. While having one Evil Character in the party is okay, it would have to be an experienced player who can keep it wrapped up or by a player willing to go through redemption. As for the opposite end of the spectrum, your typical Do Good Paladin will struggle in this campaign. Often, the path is morally ambiguous and there is no “Path of Light.” Locking yourself from accessing regions is ill advised. The base story of Wildemount will grind in the background, players are encouraged to explore the factions and lore while they run the main campaign. Party Consistency: 2-4 newer players and 1-2 veteran (Already Filled). The DM and other two players already filled in are in the Central timezone. Flow: the story starts at level 1, there will be mentors throughout the initial story to help those that need it and experienced players will get their “tutorial” sections fast forwarded at their request. Session -1 will be character discussion with the DM over Discord, we will discuss your pre-built character and how to make it fit or we will build your character in a 1 on 1 environment. Your backstory will be created or tweaked for the story. Session 0 will be 1 on 1 with the DM or in a small group if you have characters who want to be introduced together. You will each begin the story separate before being placed together for Chapter 1. Depending on Progress, you first 3-10 sessions will be mostly on rails with freedom to move about the limited space, but range restrictions. By level 5, the world opens to the player, go, and do as your party sees fit. If you lose a character, you are welcome to make another, as the story is designed to easily introduce another character. I will mostly protect the party from TPKs and new players from death with Metagaming until Lvl 5, at which point, your actions have consequences. Rules: I have home-brew injected into the rules, if you have a blatant rules mistake by me, you can voice it, but if you are digging deep into the PHB or DMG I will ask you to save it for an offline discussion. I may be either unaware of the rule or not using it on purpose, the groups time is not the setting to go digging or arguing. If you become a toxic player to the group, I will boot you hard, the setting is designed for me to easily get another player with minimal effort. I don’t plan on pigeon holing the players, I encourage curiosity and exploration. The campaign can easily ramp hard and focuses on using items and gaining knowledge.
I've been watching a lot of D&D streams but have never played before. I'd love to join your campaign!
Hi, I've been looking for a group for my 15 yr old son and I. I have 1E and 5E experience but my son has very little 5E experience from some games run with his friends. Would this be taking place on Saturday nights every week? We are Eastern time zone.
Yes, games on Saturday nights every week the group can make at least a group of 4. Let me know via PM if you are still interested.
We have 1 more spot open, then I think I'll be at max capacity. If multiple post before I can respond I will take the first post.
Hi! I'm super interested! If you have room I would love to join!
Sorry folks, I've got a full house, thank you to everyone.
