Animated Aura and PC Token not working

Afternoon all.  I recently purchased some animated spells and auras from the market place.  I wanted to use one for a Paladin PC’s aura.  I can drop the aura and group with the Pally but then can no longer fully select the Pally’s token.  I can select the group and the individual tokens but I lose the full selection options (the radial menu, the coloured bars/circle over the token, double clicking to open sheet etc).  Am I doing something wrong or is this simply not possible?

Since you're a Pro subscriber, I'd recommend the TokenCondition API script: https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7992951/

You can set up the animated graphic as a Decoration and just drop it on the Paladin token, and the API will keep it aligned for you.
