I am looking to host a game set in the world of Gor. A few things to bear in mind about this game -If you are under 18, do not apply. Sorry. -It will be play-by-post (no access to a computer w/ reliable web) -For practical reasons (players having real lives) I am not planning to have a formal schedule. Players can post as often as desired or able. -This game WILL, in all likelihood contain mature content (R-rated and, at times, possibly higher). My aim isn't to make these things the center of attention 24/7, but do understand that there is a lot of mature content that is part and parcel of daily life in this setting. PM me if you need details. -A lot of the game's content would be, at best, highly controversial by our present standards. If you are squeamish, easily offended, or don't think you'd do well with a setting whose primary society has very definitive views on a number of topics, this may not be the game for you. Like everyone else here, I am looking to have fun. Everything I said above is there to help you decide whether or not you think this is a game you'd want to play. If in doubt, or if you have questions, please reply here or PM me. I will be happy to answer you. Last but not least, please keep real life issues out of the game. I will not judge you for who/what you are in your daily life. All I ask is that you restrict real world issues to out of character discussions. Without getting into a dissertation on Gor, here is a very short crash course, along with a mini synopsis of what I have planned. Basics of Gor: Gor is an alternate/mirror/counter Earth that exists in parallel with our own. There are several distinctive cultures present on the planet. Gor, as a whole, resembles the ancient Mediterran world around the peak of Rome's power - in terms of cultures, technology, architecture, professions, and more. "Civilized Gor" has a distinctly Greco-Roman feel. In spite of all this, there are oddball bits of comparatively advanced technology. Gor is, for reasons generally unknown, kept in a technological lockdown by its alien overlords, the Priest-Kings. To most Goreans, the Priest-Kings are gods. The planet has come under threat - directly and indirectly - over the years by the bestial Kur. They see Goreans as little better than savages and seek to rule the planet someday. Almost without exception, Goreans see Humans as barbarians. The Kur take a similar view. The Kur, however, are quite willing to use Humans as pawns in their bid to control Gor. Generally speaking, the same cannot be said of Goreans. Plot Synopsis: ----------------------- The year is 2127 according to Earth's calendar. Ever since the Roswell Incident, Humanity has experienced an uptick in the number of odd disappearances that go unsolved. But that number has grown alarmingly higher in the past few decades. To make matters worse, rumors are circulating in hushed tones that there may be two alien powers involved somehow. Humanity cannot keep out of galactic politics - if there is such a thing - for much longer. The question is, what should be done?
