[LFP] [Gamma World] [Sunday August 9th]

Game Day With the Original 1978 Version of Gamma World! Start Time: 9:00 AM PDT / 4:00 PM GMT Duration: 5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice: Voice will be run on Discord Everything Else: Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects It's time to socialize and take a break from the news. I put it to a vote and the players voted for Gamma World , the original 1978 version from TSR; so that's what we're playing -- this Sunday. And You are welcome to join us! Again, this is a one-time session , a game day to have fun and socialize. We'll be using a module co-written by Gary Gygax himself. Update: Sunday will be the 6th outing. Players requested to finish the module rather than go onto something new, and that's what we're doing. All the rest about fun and socialization still applies! As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having or knowing the rules is never required. And for " one-off" social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. For those that would like to know more about Gamma World , here is a Link to the Wikipedia page for a bit of background (again, no need to buy anything. Characters will be provided.). You just need Discord, and a Roll20 account, both free. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/218152/game-day-gamma-world
Just fyi, though not helpful to you...I would LOVE to play the original Gamma World! We used to play it back in the 70s though not as much as others. However, I am involved in 2 things on here now and don't want to overstretch.
I'd be interested if you end up running an ongoing campaign. Not looking for just a few sessions. Thanks.

@T S. - It's been a fun exploration. The game was chosen by players through a poll, but I chose the edition (since I have the old books). The game definitely shows it age and is curiously overly complex and burdensome in some ways and incomplete in others. Overall though, it's been a fun romp and the system doesn't get too much in the way of story. I did end up making a few changes because I felt some aspects were getting in the way of fun. - This exploration is winding down. I only intended to run it the one session but the players asked to complete the module. I was half dreading that they would vote for it again because they were having so much fun but another title was chosen instead. (If GW had been voted in again, I would probably have made the new one 7th ed, if nothing else than to give me something interesting to explore and compare to). @Baron - Sorry, but Zero Chance of that happening. Many of the players who've played some of these sessions already petitioned that I consider making it a campaign to keep it going. I had to explain that I already have existing campaign games that I run (not GW) and have no interest or bandwidth to run a third. I'm running these "one-offs" as a way for people who are in need of a game day to be able to socialize, have some fun, and take a break from the news by running around in another world or worlds for a day. Anyway, thank you both for your comments. Even though they don't really apply here, at least it keeps the post visibility up.
