I'm looking to get together a group to play the Lost Mine of Phandelver short campaign, and possibly beyond. The Lost Mine of Phandelver is an introductory adventure for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition designed to take a party of 4 or 5 player characters for 1st to 5th level. Why would I want to pay to play Dungeons & Dragons? In paying to play the adventure, there are certain things you should expect to get for your money. First and foremost would be an experienced Dungeon Master . With over 20 years of Dungeon Master experience, I have the background and knowledge to effortlessly teach the game to new players, and bring an interesting insight to experienced veterans. By providing a simple-language explanation of the rules as they become relevant, you don't even realize you're learning the game as you play! The next thing I would want from a paid game would be immersion . I'm happy to say that the proceeds I make from this service go right back into it in the form of purchasing modules, music licenses, and high quality art assets and maps. These three elements (combined with the simplified, seamless method of rolling and character sheet tracking that I use) blend together with detailed room and world descriptions, and well-voiced, well-acted NPCs to bring the game from imagination to reality . Finally, I think I would want security and consistency . I would want to know that I'm in a safe, comfortable environment to have fun and roleplay freely, and to know that the group would be available to play when games were scheduled. Well, thankfully I have an absolute zero tolerance policy on harassment, and offer a welcoming environment to members of the LGBTQ+ community . Additionally, with each player having paid to play the game, there's a much smaller chance of last-minute cancellations , as we're all invested in playing. Sounds awesome! What do I need to play? To participate in this game, you'll need the following: A roll20.net account A dndbeyond.com account A Discord account (and preferably the Discord application, though you can use it in browser) The Beyond20 extension for either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome Roll20 will be used for most elements of gameplay, including viewing maps and rolls, and providing the soundtrack. DnDBeyond will be used to create and track characters. I own all sources and content via DnDBeyond, meaning you will have an intuitive, easy-to-understand tool to help you create a 5th Edition character using any available published option (and even a few exclusive ones!). Discord will be used for the voice chat component. I have a private server in Discord, which I pay a monthly service to to guarantee excellent audio quality, and larger file upload sizes to facilitate sharing documents and images (and, of course, memes :D) The Beyond20 extension is a browser plug-in that allows Roll20 to communicate with D&D Beyond, thus letting you make rolls from your D&D Beyond character sheet with only the click of a button. You can even automatically roll with advantage or disadvantage, and add static temporary bonuses. Beyond20 is the glue that holds this simple triangle together, and makes the experience effortless. Man, this all sounds really great. How do I join? Please post a public response to this thread (private messages will be ignored) with your age, and a description of your characters Race, Class, and Background, and a bit of your D&D experience or history (if any). Only replies that have the phrase "storm bringer" in the body of them will be eligible for consideration. For the purposes of your reply, assume that PHB races will be available, and PHB/XGtE classes. What happens if I have a bunch of fun, and want to go past level 5? Then we'll talk about you joining another s00perd00per fun time game, or if everyone in the group wants to continue, we'll decide on another adventure to play and continue on! Thanks for viewing the post, and I'm looking forward to playing with you!
