Apply Default Settings - Default NPC Tokens not affected

Hello, I was attempting to use Apply Default Settings to change the settings on tokens in my game.  I am using the Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage module. Specifically, I want it to set bars to Bottom Overlapping and to show health bars to players.  I go into the Game Settings outside the game and set it as I'm looking to have done.  Then I go into the game, click Apply Default Settings, and select "Bar Location" and "Show/Hide Bar 1 to Players". It has the desired effect on the NPC tokens already in the game. However, it does not change the default tokens I drag in from the Journal.  Those still have the standard bar above and players cannot see it. Is there something I need to do or is this just not something that this does? Thank you for your consideration.

It's the second: This is not something that it does. Default tokens are saved in their state. The only thing you can do is select one of your altered tokens and save it as the new default. I wish it worked differently too. And that the whole suite of token settings was exposed to the API, which means you could have a script modify everything.
This lacking of this kind of - in my view kind basic - functionality, makes it very hard to refrain myself from installing VTT Enhancement Suite.    Just peeked on github and this functionality was achieved in less than 20 lines of code by that Script-Kiddie.  There is so much low hanging fruit that the Roll20 dev team could give us to make our life easier.
