Edit: There clearly is an interest! I'll set things up and post as soon as I feel ready! Edit 2: You can now apply here! I'm a newish GM who wants to start a low fantasy game for a homebrew campaign. I have most of it planned out already. I started running it in DnD 5e with some friends but I quickly realised it wasn't a good fit for DnD (and unfortunately most of my friends weren't a good fit for playing TTRPGs). Before I start working on setting this all up and putting hours into more art and music and what not... I'd like to know if there's enough interest in this idea! Here's what I'm thinking: Game: Low Fantasy Gaming (a d20 game very similar to DnD 5e, and I welcome new players with little experience) Time: I can do most days except Mondays and Saturdays. I'm at GMT + 1 so I can't do late evenings for North America for example. Setting: The game would take place in and around a town where strange and troublesome things have been going on. This is a dangerous and unforgiving world where the line between the mundane, the magical and folklore is thin. People are superstitious and weary. Ordinary townsfolk know better than to leave the safety of their residence; a small town heavily dependant on trade and travel located in between bigger cities. For decades it has been relatively calm and stable, but recently things have taken a turn for the worse. The town has been shaken by everything from petty theft to cattle being killed, from food storages raided to people going missing. The townspeople are worried and it’s starting to affect travel and trade... The mood and tone I'm going for is something like the Witcher games but with Scandinavian folklore instead. Players: The players would be in town either to investigate or get roped into investigating what is causing all of these problems. (This main storyline I already have planned out, but it's very flexible and is open to different possible endings.) Your character could be motivated by the mystery, the search for knowledge, the monetary reward, the greater good or whatever else you may think of. Low Fantasy Gaming has five player classes: Barbarian, Bard, Fighter, Rogue and Magic User(has a random consequence system like DnD's Wild Magic Surge). I already have one player so I am looking for an additional three or four people who are interested in a low fantasy setting game with a focus on storytelling, roleplaying, investigation, mystery-solving, social interaction and enjoys a slightly darker tone with a lot of Scandinavian folklore. What do you guys think? Any takers?
