"Hear ye, hear ye! Our esteemed Lord Dagult Neverember seeks adventurers for a task of great import! An official investigation is underway for the acts of dissent, destruction of property, and acts of murder within the walls of Neverwinter! Seek to bring these ne'er-do-wells to justice, join the company of The Daylight Chalice and bring Tyr's judgement upon the wrongdoers! Hear ye, hear ye..." For a week now you have heard the call from the town criers, each one calling out the same chant, ringing bells and making slow processions down the streets of Neverwinter. A week of calling and it seems little have answered the call, as you almost know the chant by heart. Wrongdoers causing destruction in Neverwinter, first small groupings of riots in the poor districts, then vandalized shops and homes broken into. Recently, deaths have been reported in the city, and it's only getting worse. It always starts small, fights breaking out in clusters in the city, and then oozing out into the districts until houses burn and bodies lie in the streets. The people of Neverwinter are living in fear, and the nights feel colder, more distant, people cower in their homes for fear of being attacked by madmen. Once again you hear the ringing of the crier's bells, echoing, calling you. You're low on coin, work is scarce, and there's a mystery to be solved. You're equipped, talented, you're an adventurer, exactly what Neverember is looking for. As thunderous clouds clap overhead, and the rain begins to fall, you see it in the corner of your eye: a flyer with The Daylight Chalice upon it, and where to find them. After all, what's the worst that can happen? Greetings
and salutations, I am Riko, and I'm looking
for adventurers searching to make a name for themselves. Looking for fame and glory, pining to make a difference in the world, ambitious with power, any and all looking to answer the call of Dagult Neverember. Citizens in Neverwinter, the Jewel of the North, have begun acting strangely, meeting together in dark alleyways, chanting in their homes, destroying businesses and murdering in broad daylight. For weeks the city has been plagued by madness, and Dagult Neverember, Lord Protector of Neverwinter and its people, has had enough. A call to arms has been made, adventurers are needed, both skilled in battle and in investigation. Any and all willing to investigate the sudden change in the populace are called, and directed to, The Daylight Chalice, a mercenary company funded by Neverember himself to solve problems only an adventurer's touch can tackle. Whether a native, or from far lands, Neverwinter is your home for now, and stopping the flow of blood upon the stones is your calling. Whispers of cult activity are abound, but a secretive group known as The White Stags are on the tongues of everyone, as their men are found in the city always in the corner of the eye, and seem to operate out of the jurisdiction of the Neverwinter Guard. The Guard seem intent on stating the Stags are under Neverwinter law, but one would be hard pressed to find a member of the order behind bars or under arrest... Return To Veshoran will feature a thorough exploration of Neverwinter, its politics and its people, and witnessing the aftermath of the last calamity to strike Neverwinter one hundred years past. Investigations of murder, rioting, the source of such and putting a stop to it all will be the adventurer's top priority, and all the rewards of such will end in their hands as well. Once Neverwinter and its surrounding areas have been searched for all signs of change, the adventurers will be thrust into a mystery that seeks to be fully unfurled, and the Prime Material is not the only place their feet will trod. The answer to it all lies in forgotten places, and far realms, and the adventurers will need every ally they can count on to stop the tides of chaos.
