(Steve) Witch – Human – Cassandra - Phoenix Game Summary for Sunday Evening (08/09/2020): Opening Scene: It is now 30 days into the adventure (since setting off in the
Belle Venture), and August 24th, 7:30 pm on day 26 on the isle. After clearing some rubble that was inside of a steep sloping
passage which lead to an opening, (taking two hours (10:30pm), which upon
shining a lantern inside revealed a clear passage going east and another one
heading south. They see the ceiling here is also clear, revealing the dirt,
roots and bits of building rumble resting above. The party heads east, south and west, south, east, north then
east again. There was no sounds to be heard while traversing the passages or at
the door. The party decides to rest while inside the maze-like structure
and no encounters happen as they rested. Sheila healed up Cassandra for 10 hit
points with a Cure Serious Wounds spell. The go to the end of the east going passage which turned south
then as Maevis turns to head east at the bottom end of the passage, he felt a
slight tingling. A saving throw vs death is made he rolls a 16 needing ≥ 13. So thus, Maevis just falls back after feeling
the tingling. It was as of something had a delayed response and he was able to
fall back in time. This served as a warning the place is likely trapped so they
backtrack going back north, the east, turn south near the middle of the
passage, the goes south east the turns north west to a door, all while Grax
continuously searched for a trap along the way! Lord Tendlore would pause to
concentrate on detecting evil along the way but no passage wall does so. For now they decide to head back, going north east, north, north
west then west until they came to an opening on the north side of the passage.
As Grax begins to check for traps there there is a loud ZAP! Then Grax suddenly
completely disappears, leaving no trace of him or his equipment behind! Maevis, asks the others, “Alright, Big question, Do we join
Grax? Or do we leave him?” Cassandra, Lord Tendlore and Meavis decide to follow
Grax, in the belief that he was teleported off somewhere and Zap! Zap! Zap! They
disappear as well! When Lord Tendlore went through a rope was tied around he
but it was cleanly severed as Coal held it in his hand. The remaining party members decide not to enter the Zapping zone
and So then, it was back to that door they found, with Balen trying
to hear noise beyond the door but does not. The door is not locked, so it is pushed open to reveal: This octagonal room is empty except for a stone pedestal which
stands in the exact center of the room. The pedestal is 4 feet tall and 1 foot in diameter. Atop it sits
a golden object, a 5-inch tall bust of a clean-shaven human with a hooked nose,
bushy eyebrows, and short hair. There is another door on the opposite wall of
the one the party entered. Balen, thinks it to be a trap and listens at the other door only
to hear nothing beyond it. The door is easily opened to reveal a passage going
west then turning south at it’s end. While in this south going passage,
Xilicien casts the Detect magic spell but none is detected along any of the
walls here. Sheila casts Detect Trap while in this passage as well, the spells
will last them both for 14 minutes. Sheila also didn’t see at trap in the south
going passage. They continue onwards, east, then north then east, south east
then east when only Sheila’s Detect Trap spell illuminates an opening going south
and also at the opening in the passage’s end to the east. So far 3 minutes of
the spells have gone by at this point. It is now: 7:00 am on August 25 (Day 27 on the Isle of Dread). And that Ends today's Adventure Gaming Session!
