UDL for licensed packs of the marketplace

I asked this on the bugs forum but didn't get an answer, so i try here instead. Now that we know legacy lightning will be removed in the near future, what is the policy for licensed packs that we buy on the marketplace, such as a D&D module like Curse of Strahd ? Do we have to convert manually all the lightning settings on maps and tokens by ourselves, or will this conversion be automated, and taken care by roll20 teams ? If so, do you have an estimation of the date for such a conversion ? Due to the amount of bugs reported with the conversion tool a the moment, i'm waiting before converting my private maps. But i'm still wondering what to do with official, licensed products. Thank you.

I can't speak for Roll20, but based on past behavior, my prediction is that new modules will come with UDL, and old ones will be converted over after the Sunset of LDL. It would have to work that way if LDL is going to disappear. My guess is that they will continue to work on the converter and that the conversion will be automatic after a certain date. Again, pie in the sky guesswork, but things will convert one way or another.
Thank you ! I hope these modules won't have lightning off when legacy will be a thing o f the past. In other words, i hope they will all be autoconverted to UDL before legacy is to be permanently removed. Still, an official word from Roll20 on that subject would be nice. After all, it seems Legacy lightning will be ended soon. At least, that's what i can read on roll20 's official threads.

Again, my impression: UDL will always have some level of bugginess. That's just software. There are bugs to some degree in all commercial software. Some bugs are also on the order of: "it works this way, even if some percentage of the user base wants it to work a different way"— you can't please everyone. Roll20 actually has a relatively small number of full-time programmers, so their ability to please everyone is limited. Yeah, there will be bugs. LDL has bugs, and it's years old. I don't think LDL will be phased out until UDL reaches a level of general usability. It has to be that way. It has to work. It may not work the way everyone wants it to, but it will be functional before they sunset LDL. My impression. Not official. No "insider knowledge".
I agree to all of this. I know it's not easy to work on this all-new lightning system, and i don't want to seem angry about this. The purpose of this thread, and my only concern here, is about the paid modules. It would be really annoying to have official modules with no lightning at all when LDL will be out. And from what i gathered, LDL will be out before the end of2020. Which is really soon now. I hope roll20 will do something about these modules in the first place. D&D modules are huge and converting them is a lot of work.
