[LFG] Kid Friendly game

My 7 year old really enjoys dungeons and dragons but he is still very very new at things. Are there any games (and if so, what type of game) that would be kid friendly?
With the exception of some of the horror games(And even they could be a bit modified with the right GM) he could play anything with the right GM. Superhero, Space captain, Paladin, Mutant hero from the far future. Sky is the limit.
Do you have any suggestions as far as finding the right GM? Or is it just trial and error?
I can not help you. But I have the tales written by such a young player https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xir_53zkQCo

Hero Kids is a kid-friendly fantasy RPG tabletop game. I've played it with my kids (5, 6 & 7 at the time---they're pre-teens now). It's very easy to set up and run for them. Everything you need is provided to print out (character sheets, maps, player/npc tokens, etc). I have seen very little representation for kid-friendly games/GMs on Roll20, but it is a demographic I am interested in looking into. When you say Paul C. said: My 7 year old really enjoys dungeons and dragons... Do you mean to say that he has played D&D specifically or that he is interested in tabletop roleplaying games in general? I ask because if he is interested in (and gets) D&D, Hero Kids might be a little simplistic for him. In my opinion, Hero Kids is the perfect TTRPG to introduce middle school or younger kids to tabletop gaming to see if it's something they're interested in. That said, if they are introduced to D&D, Hero Kids might make them feel like they're playing in the kiddie pool? I currently have a 6-year-old who is only getting to physically go to school 2 days of the week. The other 3 days are virtual learning (which has been pitifully organized in my area). So this year, I'm a stay-at-home parent-teacher and my plan is to teach him to read a book through the use of Hero Kids as a learning tool.

He has played stripped down versions of DnD. Stuff Like this: https://outschool.com/classes/introduction-to-dungeons-and-dragons-101-simplified-campaign-heroes-of-hesiod-1N0gZTNp#ushiQ1rv6M https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/778640200/sidekick-quests-mystery-of-the-moon-stone And we have dabbled in actual DnD but my wife and I don't have the time or energy to devote to learning to be a decent DM. I think he is ready to move to the next level of complexity. He is very familiar with the fantasy universe and understands what each class can do. Whether or not he could play official DnD I am not sure. I think it depends on how detailed the DM is going to get (ie. does the gear he is carrying actually slow his character down if overloaded, does he need to pack rations for each day, etc)
Paul, My son is 9 and I'm looking to try to get into something for him. He'd be totally new though. That said, what time zone are you in? I'm hoping to swing something on like a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I'm also debating if it'd be better to do parents & kids, or just for the kids.
Hey all. Honestly, any game system is suitable for kids, provided you have the right GM who is willing to make it both child friendly but not compromise the quality of the game. In the past, I've run both D&D and a Sci-Fi style game for kids, both with and without their parents. Unfortunately my schedule is really full right now, otherwise I would gladly offer. As far as finding the right GM, it's a bit of both trial and error and doing research. Look for beginner friendly games and message the GM directly to see if they'd be OK for kids. Be prepared for some or a lot of rejection, but it'll all be worth it when you find the right GM, trust me. Sorry I can't be more help, but I hope this gives you something to go off.
If there's enough interest, I would love to host tabletop games for kids.
I have a ten year old brother who would love to join a game, if anyone needs members! He has very little experience but he's a fast learner.

We are Pacific Standard Time. Saturday or Sunday afternoon would be perfect for us. As far as parents & kids vs just kids, either one is great for us. We also have another friend who would potentially join the group. BranSch said: If there's enough interest, I would love to host tabletop games for kids. That would be amazing. It looks like there are 3 people in this thread, plus we have a real life friend that might be interested. So if you decide to do something, please let me know.

Hey there. Sorry about the delayed response. After talking with about it with my wife we are interested in trying to set up a parent & kid friendly game. If anyone wants to DM that please send me a message and we can talk further about finding a time to play. Thanks!
Hey, I've ran games for kids before and was looking to start another before that kinda fell through so I have some stuff practically ready to go, are you looking for a free game or is there any way you'd consider a paid game?
I am looking for a free game if possible.
I have an introductory 5E game for young kids and their parents. This game has been running for a few months and is played on Tuesday Mornings 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM CDT (midwest USA). The game had 7 Original Players however some of the American players were no longer able to play because they have returned to school. The other players are British. This campaign will accept up to three to four more players between the ages of 9 to 12 and any parents who wish to participate. I have 45 years as a Game Master and present an easy to understand introduction to Role Playing. If you are interested in joining this respond by sending a Private Message to Ajax. All my games are FREE. -Ajax
Unfortunately my son is now in school as well, so mid day will not work during the week. If it were on the weekend we might be able to do that.
