Wound tracking in character sheets

I've noticed that a lot of the WoD sheets and the SW sheet allow players to track wounds, which I assume can modify rolls. Can these ratings be affected with a macro, or do you have to open up the character sheet to make the adjustment? If the latter, how does that work in the thick of play?

You can't change the value of an attribute with a macro, you need the API for that.

That's what I figured. Thanks Sam.
For the Savage Worlds sheet, wounds is on the character sheet, which makes it a attribute, which allows you to include it in any macro. Additionally, the attribute can then be tied to a token on one of the bars. That lets a player mark a wound in one of the bubbles, the little bar shows on the token so everyone knows they are wounded, and it affects all of the macro rolls.

That could be a game changer for us. Please pretend I'm a complete newb and explain. :)

Edit a token Link the token to a character Set one of the bars's values to an attribute in the drop down box. This will allow you to edit the value directly from your token. When a token is clicked, three circles pop up, and these circles can contain the value of the bar. When you click on a value, a text box pops up that allows you to add (+1), subtract (-1), or otherwise set (1) the bar's value. This changes the attribute directly for the sheet.
