New Guy to this type of gaming

Hello,       I've had almost zero experience with this type of gaming and know next to nothing about it.  I'm interested in learning if someone will teach me.  Looking for a beginners quest to get the ball rolling.  If anyone has any recommendations or would be willing to show me the ropes it will be much appreciated.  Oh, and I've seen games for Pokemon and Ghost Busters; I'm not interested in those.  My tastes are along the lines of Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Horror, in order to keep me from just laughing this thing off.
What timezone are you in and times are you available ?
I'm in GMT+1 and Saturdays or Sunday work best but, I usually have a few hours on the weekdays at night.
Well, besides my Pokemon and Ghostbusters campaigns, I've also one set up for a Thing from Another World D20. It's pretty suitable for beginners as the characters are premade besides their personality that you fill in. But it'd fulfil the Sci-Fi/Horror parts you're looking for.
@Olcas O.  Sure, I'm willing ot give it a go.  Is there a link to it?
Hi Matt, Over at  Eternal Vigilance , we have a game starting up for those new to roll20 and interested in a Star Wars: Edge of Empire campaign. We also have several other campaign settings going at the moment, such as Pathfinder and Rokugan, and a miscellaneous lineup of one-shots/short adventure series. Feel free to check it out and see if one of the games works for a time slot which you are available. If not, definitely introduce yourself on the forums and request what you're most interested in :) Brett
Thanks man, I'll check it out.
Brett,      I couldn't find a list of possible games on your site.  I was going to comment on the forum but, there is no guest option.  I'm not too keen on creating an account just to look at the product your group offers.  Thank you for the offer but, too much work for an unknown payoff.  Do you just have a list of games offered with times they begin?
