Status effects not linked to tokens?

I have succefully managed to link PC's to tokens.  But when I go to another map and drag them from the journal the status effect symbols that are in effect on previous map do not transfer. Is this intentional or am I missing something? I know I can copy paste the tokens so it's not a big deal but still.

This is expected behavior. When dragging a token from the journal, it creates a new instance of the "default token", so any temporary token properties (e.g. auras, dimensions, status effects, etc.) are ignored. Linked bar values (e.g. hp, ac, etc.) are accurate, because the link itself hasn't changed and the values are stored on the character sheet. So, aside from deleting the default token from the character and re-assigning with the current token (which you definitely don't want to do), copy/paste is going to be your best bet.
