On the eighth day of Uktar,  Rhogar  and  Varis  followed the Dragonborn's Gazer familiar back to the chest of treasure in the trophy room, while  Titus ,  Halle , and  Naivara  were led by Mccath the Crimson  to the trove of books the Tiefling came to Oyaviggaton to obtain. Mccath's warnings on the dangers to be found within the books did not deter most of them from looking through them. Naivara, in particular, found a book in Primordial which made a lasting impression on her, so she decided to keep it. To the group Mccath presented two arrows of dragon slaying, a ring of cold resistance, and a bundle of scrolls, all to be used in their fight against Arauthator . She noted that Arauthator had one of the books she needed to take with her, and that it would have to be retrieved from his treasure hoard. She said it needed to be retrieved before they left. She then led them to the Ice Toad's scriptorium. In the scriptorium the group re-united with each other as they met with the Ice Toad Marfulb and her Ice Toad scribes, all busy recording and filing data on the dragon, its lair, the Ice Hunter culture, the weather, the movements of the ice within the sea, and more. The group questioned Marfulb about the previous groups who fought Arauthator and died, one of which included Varis' grandfather, to try and glean any information useful in their upcoming fight. Marfulb took careful notes of their own abilities as well, in order to record their victory or defeat in her ongoing records. Eventually they had the idea to wait until the dragon went to collect the food from its Kobold and Ice Hunter minions and set up a sort of ambush. Mccath wouldn't join their fight, but she would aid them by casting magic on them to allow three of them to fly. Titus, Halle, and Rhogar accepted. When the time arrived, they descended into Arauthator's lair. The dragon was not surprised by them despite their efforts, and Arauthator attacked. The group's plans and preparations paid off however, as the dragon's initial assaults didn't find them such easy targets, and their own prowess combined with Mccath's arrows soon turned the tide against the creature. Gravely injured and fearing for his life, Arauthator angrily fled Oyaviggaton to recover at another of his lairs far away, narrowly avoiding a final attempt at a killing blow by Halle. The group spent hours thawing out and exploring the treasure hoard left behind, finding money and many interesting items. Among them the shattered remnants of Varis' grandfather's dragonslayer sword, and the book Arauthator had been studying:  Abjurations , by Loen Froadmun, a treatise on protective magic and wards based on the anti-dragon wards of Silverymoon. The group checked in with Marfulb and then returned to the surface with Mccath. The Dragonborn tribe of Ice Hunters took the news of the dragon's defeat well - they believed it would allow them to finally leave this cursed island and rebuild their tribe in freedom. They were thankful to the group as they packed up their village for travel deeper into the Sea of Moving Ice. The group flagged down the Frostskimmr  to board it with Mccath, who was awed by seeing the sky for the first time in three years. As they set sail to leave the Sea of Moving Ice, Mccath told them what she knew of the Draakhorn .
