Explorer Mode: Move a token without updating explored area?

Hi, I just enabled the new dynamic lighting features in a map and also enabled the explorer mode. This works very well for me, but I have one issue I can't figure out how to solve: I often have a single map that represents multiple levels of a dungeon. So when a player enters the stairs leading to another dungeon, I have to move that token to another area in the map which represents the same staircase one level up or down. With explorer mode enabled, when I do that, I essentially reveal all the areas I have to move the player avatar over and they become greyed out areas to that player. Is there a way to move a token without updating the explored area? How is everybody else solving this? —Michael

The token needs to "teleport." Either: Send the token to the GM layer, move it, and bring it back to the Token layer. This can be accelerated by learning the hot keys for the layers (check the Settings tab in game). If you can drop another copy of the token and get an exact duplicate of the token's current state (through linked attributes and lighting on a default token for the character sheet), then you can delete the token and drop a new copy at the destination. I believe there is also a Teleport API, but you would need a Pro subscription to use it.
Okay thanks. On a similar topic: is it expected that the explored (grayed out) area resets every time I relaunch the game? I would like my players to keep seeing the area they previously explored as grayed out.

One more method: Copy the tokens, delete them, click on where you would like them to appear, and paste. (Pro tip: Ctrl-C multiple times. Sometimes the first one doesn't take.) Also, Try using "Update on Drop". This will only reveal areas once the token has finished its move, without revealing the intervening areas. Not sure if that feature works with Explorer mode or just DL.
