[LFP]Lost mines of Phanadver Saturday Evening

About the Campaign: Looking to Run Lost mines of Phanadver. I’ve tried to play this module since 5e came out and was never successful so I’ve decided to run it with some tweeks to make it more low fantasy and some homebrew to monsters and the world to change up this pretty well known adventure and to include any story hooks that might come from players and player backgrounds. I am looking for 3 to 4 players at the max with a fifth slot reserved for a friend. Strong preference for anyone whose never played this adventure path. Time: Saturday / Start time between 5-7pm est / End Time 9-10pm est / Format: Voice + Roll20 About the Module: The campaign revolves around the exploits of Gundren Rockseeker and his mysterious disappearance. The party tangled with both the Red Brands criminal gang and the Cragmaw Goblin Tribe in their hunt for the missing Dwarf and as they closed in on the mysterious figure. About Me: I am 28 years of age and have been GMing/playing since a friend introduced me to D&D senior year of high school. I’ve played D&D 3.5, Patherfinder 1e and a lot of World of Darkness. 10k of my hours played on here are in World Of Darkness vampire & werewolf.  I want to run D&D as way to change up my pace and get a fresh perspective of my GMing skills with a new group that’s not my usual group. Also I paint figures and just resubbed to World of Warcraft as my other hobby.   About the Game: As I mentioned above this game will center around the Lost Mines of Phanadver but I’d also like to use it as building blocks for other adventures if we find a good group chemistry. In fact, I care about group chemistry more than your characters, backgrounds and all of that. I am looking for people who want to be social and engage with each other including each other in their respective story lines. -           -There will be no magic equipment throughout this adventure path - I will restrict the party to only 1 spell caster player.   - There will be no unearthed Arcana material allowed. - Standard Point buy (27) or Standard Roll Array which ever you prefer - This game is free / none payment - You get access to all the compendiums I’ve bought for the game at no cost to you. Game will be mix of narrative/minds eye and battle maps - I have not DMed 5e an extensive amount and will be brushing up a lot during this Adventure path.   About my style / games: I tend to favor narrative more than mechanics but at the same time I think mechanics need to also support the narrative. There more I will add/change/remove things that either seem clunky or simplify it for smoother flow. I am also not the GM of “Yes and” or “Yes but” I believe that character failures need to happen to both allow growth as well as creative thinking.  If you attempt to do something and fail, you will fail there will be no accident or twist of fate with a consequence that allows you proceed forward. Character failures are important to me because they allow character success to be all the sweeter. Death is a possibility and threat. The greats heroes can die from a stray arrow on the battlefield. You are mortal and death is a possibility. That being said I don’t go out of my way to kill you. Player decesions kill players. I will not fudge numbers or dice rolls. Player preparation and decision making will be the strongest deterrent to RNG. I also look for relationships the world is bigger than the players and if we make it through the module I’d like to explore that. The relationships your characters make are the most interesting thing to me. The relationships between the players and the npcs. Those relationships will be tested time and time again. I try to run my games with what I find fun and include other people’s ideas and stories for a co-operative game. I am doing this for fun. **My world and campaign setting might not be the most politically correct** I believe that shit people need to exist. That great people need to have flaws. Racism, sexism and other isms exist. But the opposite is also true. While the world may have shit people it also has a variety of characters of many creeds, nations, sexual orientations.   My Experience with Roll 20: -           I am not a fan of dynamic lighting or fog of war I’ve never taken the time to learn to use. (I might play with it this game who knows) -           I’ve been on here for almost half a decade I’ve run a lot of games but not any D&D games so will be learning my way through the sheets with you. -           I do not use any special API scripts or tables, I prefer the virtual tabletop experience vs the computer game to tabletop variance. Selection Process: I am In no rush to fill the game. I plan to take my time and try to pick the people I think will fit with both my personality and each other.  Please just make a post stating your interest and offer up anything you might find relevant. After people post I will do my best to respond to each post either rejecting or asking you for a time/day we can talk on discord. On Discord we will talk along with any other people who have selected. We will than have a mini rp session 30min to an hour long so we see a glimpse of each others style/rp. From there we will each make our respective decision.     What You Need: -Discord -Working Mic -Committed to showing up on the time we agree on. Any no show / no advance warning of no showing will be dropped from the game. Emergencies do happen and exceptions will be made for emergencies only. - I will be recording the sessions for review. It is highly unlikely I will post them anywhere but I will be recording them none the less. I - Some where in your post confirm whether you read the above post or not.     *Mal’s Note –  tried to be as honest and through in my post to set proper expectations if you read it all thank you.
Hey I'm interested in playing but I'm somewhat inexperienced. My last time actually playing was about 5-7 years ago in a multi-year 4e homebrew campaign, so all of my 5e experience comes from watching D&D shows and I haven't used Roll20 before. I'm available later in the evening on Saturday (7PMish EST start time). I've read everything in the above post.
Hi mal. Im interested in your DM style i agree that people should have flaws. The world is full of different kinds of people and not all of them are pleasant to be around. I have not done any tabletop in 5 years since i started my new job. I have never played 5th edition either. Im available most evenings after 6:30 est. I read the entire post.
Hi Mal I have never heard of this game and I think it would be interesting to play. I am curious how the game will run with only ones spellcaster that really raises the stakes when it comes to life and death in this game. Myself I'm still count as a noob in D&D having played it for almost a year now but I have played many one shots, just finished on campaign with a LV 15 Fighter I'm starting another on thursdays. I am free on saturdays and I can play at that time I am on a central time zone I do have a Discord with a mic through my speaker but I don't have a webcam. I have only played 5e. I hope to hear from you
I am interested in taking part. Outside listening to a couple extended campaigns I have no experience with D&D or TTRPGs in general. I am very willing to learn. I have made a character sheet so I have some general idea on the basics of making one for 5e. I'm rather open minded, though I am rather anxious when meeting new people. Also have no roleplay experience. There is one extra detail, I am blind. I use screen readers to navi technology. I'm not entirely sure how screen reader friendly Roll20 is for sure, but from what I've gathered so far, drag/drop isn't exactly possible for me nor is selecting skills for proficiencies. I've read the entire post. Good luck and have fun with the campaign!

Thank you to those responded. I'll be DMing you all my discord after work  to try and talk some more and get a grasp of everyone's personality and see if we'll be a fit.
Discord DMs have gone out. If anyone is still interested in joining please post as no final selections have been made.
Still looking for interested parties.
Hello! I’ve been a part of many different campaigns, but they always fell apart. I’d love to play a narrative based game where my character could actually die! That’s so metal! I always play as a rogue tiefling, but I’ve never needed to use magic for her. My discord is  Mem (Eleanor)#0341
