Hello friends! In the grim dark future of the 41st millennium there is only war! Waaagh!!! A busy schedule, lack of funds, and lack of painting ability took me out of the 40k game long ago, but I've now realized Roll20 will let me skip all of that and get right down to slaughter! Looking for anyone who wants to kill an afternoon now and again with this wonderfully bloody game. Ideally you'd have some experience since the rules are fiendishly complicated and I'm discovering I do not remember most of them. That said, newbies are quite welcome too! I have online, shareable access to the 8th edition core rulebook and all the codexes. For setup, I imagine we'd agree on a points limit, share our army lists, and then I'll create a map and tokens for us. I'm pretty used to the Roll20 system as a D&D DM, so whipping out such assets is no big deal. We'd also have to agree on how to fudge the rules for online play, but so far I've been having reasonable success with 1" hexagonal grids and open terrain maps. Stuff like line of sight, scatter dice, templates, and which side of a vehicle you happen to be shooting will be subject to some discussion as well, but I imagine can be easily solved. (My scatter dice solution is to roll a D6 and take a hit on a 5+, then roll a D12 +2D6 to determine the direction and distance of any resulting scatter with the D12 representing the six points and faces of the target hexagon. Seems to work pretty well!) Message me if you're interested! Then I can go from wistfully writing army lists to excitedly writing army lists!
