Player Characters and Tokens

I have not been able to find a place to store Player Character info and tokens. I have tried to use the character option in the Journal Tab to Drag and Drop a token onto the map but that doesn't seem to be a function. It would be nice to be able to pull a group of tokens out of the Characters section directly to the map. If those characters had a set of linked stats similar to the tokens on the tabletop that would be nice too. So I can set up my party with HP and other trackable stats in place and drag them into different maps within a campaign, keeping their HP and stats updated based on whatever HP/stats they were at last checkpoint. It may even be something worth attaching to the PC accounts, that way they can bring their character in and out of different campaigns because they have a static "bin" they can keep their playable characters in.
There are a lot of ways to do what you're describing. I've used a single page of my campaign to have the campaign tokens and copy them to other sections (as the attributes continue for pasted tokens).
Nolan, I can see your suggestion as being a viable option. But since you've already set aside real estate for Character Information in the Journal Tab, why not add a way to drop Character tokens from the Journal Tab. It seems like I'm storing similar information in two places when they would be better implemented as a single entity.
Perhaps down the line.
I'm thinking the same thing as Ben. This is one of my most hoped for features because if Players could have any control over anything, I want it to be on their characters. Since they can't change the map while I'm not playing (however, I love that they can view anything while I'm not playing) to a screen with their pre-loaded tokens (which only allows so much info) the journal tab is the best option, and the most intuitive to my players and myself. Similarly, if their stats change mid-session, I don't want to have to refresh their pre-readied token page, or refer back to it and copy-paste, when I can just drag from a tab on the side.
+ 1 Regardless of the game system, there will be some tokens intended to represent characters (player- or NPC-), and this is represented already a couple places in the UI. These character enties are obviously the same items listed in the journal table under "Characters", yet there is a total disconnect between the Journal characters and the token "names", including as listed in the Turn Order widget. Forget click and drag and other fancy UI candy. Let's just have a consistent data model beneath the UI where "characters" are "characters" and there is not a total disconnect between Journal characters and token characters.

I like the option of using detailed token images to depict various enemies, npc's, etc., but I would also like the option of using generic tokens instead. When I have played face-to-face, I like to have the PC's stand out on the map (so they use painted minis or a token of their choosing) during an encounter, and I always just used those little colored glass tokens (or poker chips) to symbolize enemies. I find that this focuses attention on the PC's and encourages the players to imagine what those goblins look like, rather than having the token dictate much of that. You can see an example here: <a href="http://crengraving.com/cr/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Canon%20048.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://crengraving.com/cr/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Canon%20048.jpg</a> Is there any way to include an option for tokens that would do something similar? Rather than listing them separately by color, I wonder if you could create one generic token to drop on the map and have the color be customizable by the GM, using standard pre-defined colors. You might also include an option to vary shading or use other colors with an interface similar to other programs that allow the user to vary color. Ex. here: <a href="http://0.tqn.com/d/presentationsoft/1/0/I/X/-/-/06still-more-color-options-powerpoint.png" rel="nofollow">http://0.tqn.com/d/presentationsoft/1/0/I/X/-/-/06still-more-color-options-powerpoint.png</a> This is a great program! Love it, and I'm glad to be a part of the beta testing!
