[D&D5e][THUR] New DM looking for serious roleplayers for weekly homebrew game.

Billions of lands and seas make up billions of worlds, in as many universes. A single act, a single thought, a single word can have an effect, however big or small, on all or one of these worlds. We come to one such world. From among the millions, all of which have the potencial to reap great fortunes or suffer great tragedy, aquire vast treasures or find a quick end, to gain fame or infamy, we find a few persons of interest... What will happen to our persons of interest?... Let us follow, watch and find out..." Hello ladies and gents I am hoping to bring together a group of friendly and serious roleplayers for a weekly D&D5e game, that is heavy on the roleplay. Game Time: Thursday 1pm or 5pm (TBD) UK time start (3-5hr sessions). I am 27 y/o, fresh to DMing and also partially sighted, so would appreciate relaxed and supportive players. For that reason there will be no complex maps - a simple grid and brain power (aka ToTM) I aim for a serious style of roleplay where players invest in their characters, remain/talk/act IC during sessions as much as possible, and consider the consequences of their choices and actions - I certainly will. The more you give me through your RP, the more I can give back to develop your character and the story. The odd joke and comment are perfectly fine, keeps things fun, so long as they don't break the atmosphere or flow of the game. For the most part OOC chat should be kept for the end of sessions. It will be in my homebrew world. Will follow RAW mostly - but not to rigidly that it gets in the way. Level 1 or 2 start. PHB and Xgte. Discord for voice. Be aware that me being a new DM, it may take a few sessions to find a rhythm and a bit of tweaking to get the storytelling just right to achieve the game I am aiming for. Constructive and helpful feedback will be most welcome. I hope to create a campaign where the story develops based on the party's choices and rolls. With the DM and players working together to create an emmersive and fun atmosphere for all. Intrigue, suspence and challenging story driven combat. There will be enemies to make, people to befriend, politics to influence, factions to disassemble or support, monsters to kill, dungeons to crawl, strange and wonderful places to explore, aswell as grim corners of the world to brave. Want players who: ▪︎Are respectful to all. ▪︎Want to work as a team. ▪︎Love serious roleplaying with each other aswell as NPCs. ▪︎Don't get upset if things don't go their way. ▪︎20 y/o + No drama players, no edgy/evil PCs, no PvP, no metagaming. Note - Please use the subject line "D&D - Your Homebrew" in your private message (helps me keep track). If you are interested then send me a PM. Please include the below information in your message. Hi I'm making a discord server for 5e DM's that use roll20. feel free to message me if you are interested. All experience levels welcome.
Hi! 1) Bastien 2) I've just hit 30 3) Male 4) BST 5) I'm Frenchman who's left his country about 5 years ago. I've spent some time in Poland (all kind of a blur, eheh) and then I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland - and I love it. I've studied a couple of different fields, not always successfully, and I have had a lot of different jobs. My current job is as a game master for an Escape Room, which is quite fun. 6) I played my first tabletop RPG (D&D) for the first time about a year ago, but I've managed to play regularly since. 7) My favourite aspect of the game is hands down roleplay, though I am not against a good combat here and there, or exploration sequences. All in all, if the balance tilts slightly towards social interactions and narrative beats, it would suit me best. I tend to think Railroad > Sandbox but I am open to new experiences. 8) 5e is a very agnostic system. Sometimes it's a blessing, sometimes it's a curse. 9) I try to experiment with different characters, and my.personal.goal is to get to try every single class in the game. I use the third person when describing my characters. 10) I really try not to stick to just one type of character. That being said, the character I have spent the most time with so far is Sera, an Aasimar Vistani, and a Forge Cleric. 11) Thursdays 1pm or 5pm UK TIME - anytime is fine. I just need to get confirmation that this is a go and I'll be able to arrange with my work.
1) Name: JT/Legacy 2) Age: 35 3) Gender: Male 4) Time zone: EST/UTC-4 5) A little about yourself: Hello! My name is JT and I'm a disabled gamer, coincidentally also with near blindness among my health issues. I operate Legacy Ark Games to occupy my time. LAG is first and foremost a YouTube channel which features games (including virtual tabletop campaigns) I feel are accessible, safe, and hopefully sociable for often homebound disabled/chronically ill gamers like myself. Gaming is pretty much my life, always has been, always shall be. Beyond that, I live in Florida and am housebound, so many of my waking hours are spent pursuing my charitable and gaming/roleplaying endeavors. I was a voice actor by trade prior to disability, and I have a great love of storytelling. Out of character, I'm a very friendly, patient player who is by no means a rules lawyer. 6) How long you have been playing D&D: 25+ years, since the fateful day when I first discovered a set of AD&D rulebooks at the public library. I've been playing tabletop games ever since, largely virtually since my disability worsened in my late teens. 7) What do you like most about a D&D campaign: I enjoy it very much when campaigns are committed, long term things wherein our characters grow together both mechanically and as people with interlinked fates. The long term and all that it promises in terms of possibilities really appeals to me. I enjoy it when GMs offer a wide array of flexible character creation choices, as I think playing as close to what we'll enjoy as is reasonable brings out the best in our roleplaying potential. Beyond that? Tell a great story, interact in fascinating ways, resolve plot dilemmas, and (of course) slay some bad guys and find neat treasure along the way. If we can interact with the world in the sense of building up a presence within it and having influence as we ourselves ascend in prominence, great! 8) What do you least like in a D&D campaign: Rules lawyering, excessive restrictiveness in choices, lack of opportunity for exploration, starting below level 2-3 (I feel parties and characters are best defined once each player has had their opportunity to choose their plan moving ahead). 9) Describe your playstyle and roleplay style: Having been a voice actor by trade, I love to 'find' my character and really bring them to life with the right voice, paired with narrative descriptions of my actions. I very seldom play fighters or barbarians because they just aren't my style, and I find that I have more creative flexibility with other options. The ability to enact more creative solutions than simply stabbing things is quite important to my play style. 10) Briefly describe a typical PC you like to play: A typical PC for me is most likely a spellcasting class due to the aforementioned creative flexibility, and more likely, probably a wizard (I like Lore Mastery for my school). This said, I do enjoy other things and UA material as they may or may not apply. I already play a bard, a ranger, a paladin, and three druids in the week - so I'm afraid they'd be out as choices on my own. However, what's most important to me is that the group succeeds, and it's for that reason that I do enjoy filling niche roles which supply what the group lacks. 11) Can you make Thursdays 1pm or 5pm UK TIME - state your prefered time (if either is fine state such): I can make the 5pm UK time (which is 12:00pm EST). I would not be able to make the 1pm UK time, much too early for me. Thank you! If you care to speak further, feel free to PM me or (for a faster reply) DM me via Discord at Legacy Ark Games#0725
1) Name Ronan 2) Age 21 3) Gender Male 4)Time Zone Irish Standard Time 5) I'm in 3rd year college Biochem, I like swimming and games 6) 3 years on and off mostly played with my brother DM'ing for me. 7) Combat and roleplaying funny voices 8) I honestly don't know 9) In combat I like to have an impact, not carry by any means but I do like the stronger classes, roleplay = funny character, have fun 10) I usually play frontliners but I wanna play a spellcaster after being a druid 11) Yes I prefer 1pm I'm gonna throw in the character I plan to play I think he's cool and I thought you might like to read his backstory! Sticks Footrag the goblin sorcerer! Sticks grew up in Yarbgirk, a goblin settlement beside the shivering spine mountain range. From birth he and his twin brother Shoes Footrag were inseparable, they got up to all kind of mischief and adventures. Shoes always told Sticks that once they were strong enough they would head out to the ‘big world’ to see the wonders they always heard about in the village elder’s stories. However this dream wasn’t meant to be. One night the village of Yarbgirk was attacked by a tribe of orcs known as the Red Fury under the command of Groc the fierce. Stick’s parents were slain by the Red Fury and his brother captured. That night Sticks discovered he had an innate ability of spellcasting. Cornered by the orc raiders with nowhere to go, a sudden rush of energy flowed through his body, sticks directed this energy to his hands to which a flame appeared in his hand, he hurled it at the orc raiders turning them to ash. Seeing this wild magic the orc warriors turned heel and ran. Sticks was triumphant but alone and soon the darkness of unconsciousness took him. When he awoke he discovered his brother had been taken. Stick’s goal now is to find the orcs of the red fury to rescue his brother.
1) Name - West 2) Age - 24 3) Gender - M 4) Time zone - EST 5) A little about yourself - Gamer 6) How long you have been playing D&D - 5 years 7) What do you like most about a D&D campaign - Good roleplay and character development 8) What do you least like in a D&D campaign - Argueing about rules, if there is a rules lawyer present in the group I will not play with them I will leave. 9) Describe your playstyle and roleplay style - Playstyle tends to be exploratory, Roleplay style is playfull and full of satire. 10) Briefly describe a typical PC you like to play - A scrawny wizard kid who tries his hardest to prove himself to his parents be fore realising they will always love his more successful siblings more than him so he goes in search of people who dont demand so much of them; winds up with the PCs in the process. 11) Can you make Thursdays 1pm or 5pm UK TIME - 5pm
1) Maddi 2) 20 3) Female 4)EST 5) I'm a college student taking classes online, I've been roleplaying online for 5-6 years now and I'm hoping to become an English teacher in Japan! 6) I have 2 years of DND experience 7) I love the RP aspect of DND. That was always my main focus when I started and it still is! Also I love the lore a DM puts into their own worlds and finding new things and secrets to discover. 8) People who have fits when things don't go their way but everyone else is having fun and people who will actively turn against me if I have a panic attack OOC 9) I tend to play a lot of spellcasters and get right into the action!! my RP style is that I keep notes of my character, I tend to be a bit chaotic when it comes to the warlocks but I try to keep everything within the rules of the world 10) Arrogant noble training to be part of the royal guard, obsessed with power makes a pact with an evil deity against their better judgement, selling their soul off just to be respected by their family. The warlock now seeks to break free from their pact, and get their life back on track. 11) yes either time is good for me
1) Name: Zunny (college nickname) 2) Age: 28 3) Gender: Female 4) Time zone:  Buenos Aires (GMT-3) 5) A little about yourself: 3D Animation graduate that ended up liking 2D animation instead. I've been playing RPG's like Skyrim since 2012 but I'm really looking forward to playing a tabletop campaign where I can roleplay my own character with other people. I also want to gain experience playing D&D so I can DM for my friends next time I visit them in Chile. 6) How long you have been playing D&D: 11 hours, played two oneshots and two sessions from an unfinished campaign... I wanted to play D&D with my friends since 2017 but we didn't have a DM. I moved last year to Argentina and found people who did, but they hardly had time. With COVID it became imposible because some of them live in rural areas and don't have good Internet conection. 7) What do you like most about a D&D campaign: Lore, adventuring, political intrigue and unexpected plot twists that force the players to work around unlikely solutions. And absurdity, at least a little. 8) What do you least like in a D&D campaign: Having to wait months to play next session in a campaign. 9) Describe your playstyle and roleplay style: Adaptability and good natured misfits or devilish well hidden evils. I tend to create character that go against the norm but help the party ability wise. A lot of ranged and magic casters, I go with vanguard melee pc, too much doom and gloom backstories, I create a walking joke, too much radomness in the party behavior I go with a machiavellian and methodical plan to reach my objective and doom my enemies. 10) Briefly describe a typical PC you like to play: Well, last time I played a tabaxi monk. My intention was to make the party members laugh with her antics (like trying to reach a cookie jar by climbing through the kitchen's roof instead of sneaking through the door) but had a hidden agenda (not by the character though) of collecting dead bodies for her studies (Long death monastic tradition). In a nutshell: embodiments of contradiction. A few other examples would be: vampire cartographer that goes adventuring to fill more maps, tiefling that tries to hide his infernal caracteristics with clothing and fighting style (no magic), etc. Sorry, ended up not being brief. 11) Can you make Thursdays 1pm or 5pm UK TIME: 5pm would be best, just after lunch where I live.
