Players can see entire map (again)

Searching this forum I see this is a recurring and random bug, but I'll add another data point: This first happened months ago but only for one player and it was temporary. However, last night at least three out of five players reported suddenly being able to see rooms and tokens much further away than their token and the page settings should allow and it persisted until the session ended. This is a Princes of the Apocalypse campaign and they were in an intense fight in area E25 of the Temple of Eternal Flame when they reported being able to see monsters in area E13, which is quite a distance and several layers of dynamic lighting walls away. I didn't tell them to reload their browsers as I wanted to keep the momentum of the combat going.  This morning as I'm doing my post-game cleanup I noticed in the Page Toolbar there were two copies of the Temple of Eternal Flame map next to the main map but these extras were blank (white) although they had the same page settings as the original and were even named "Temple of Eternal Flame (copy)." Wasn't aware there was an option to make a copy of a map. Well, beyond just adding a new map and labeling it "copy". I certainly didn't do that. Maybe this is linked to the players' sudden super vision?
If you are using the UDL (updated dynamic lighting) then this is a common error. It is usually worse when players zoom out on the map, rather than running at 100%.
Continuing to see too many issues with UDL, I've shied away from it.  Unfortunately this issue recurring with old DL makes it more worrisome.
