I would be up for playing in a one-shot as well, provided it starts within 3 hours. My regular tabletop game session has been canceled and i heave a free evening. As a note, i'm quite experienced with the aforementioned systems.
I'm interested in 4th edition. Ideally, I'd like to play in an ongoing campaign, but if it comes to it, I can DM a one-shot (probably using a pre-published adventure, since I don't have time to throw something together). I'm pretty experienced with 4e, and I'm in the US Eastern time zone (currently EDT).
I would be up for a oneshot in either system if its 8:00pm EST or around there
I am down to play in a one shot or am avaible to GM someting up real quick for Pathfinder tonight
Unless we get some new hit on this.... it seems that we maybe playing a one-shot 4e, though we would still need a couple more people i think. the time would seem to be (around) 8pm EST @Lizard: if all else fails you can DM it? @Justin: You ok with a 4e one-Shot?
I got a 3.5 game going tonight except it's ongoing if you want to join add me on skype yoyoyoda18
I've gotten DnD Next down to pat but I'm iffy on 4e. If you help me along, I'll play my Controller character and blow people up free of charge :3 I could use a one-shot to help hone what I already know.
@Jeremiah: If all else fails, yes, I can DM it. If that's what happens, then I'll likely run the adventure from the Eberron Campaign Guide, but with a few tweaks here and there.
Oh dear... I'm really sorry, but some family issues have come up and it looks like I'm no longer free for tonight. :/ I may still be able to do this if I get back quickly, but don't hold your breath. I kind of doubt it. I'm really, really sorry.
bummer, but it happens... travel safe.
I can still Play in 4e. Have not DMed in a While. Not sure if i could pick it up quick.
What's everyone's opinion on Pathfinder? I've got the hankerin' for a one-shot tonight, but Pathfinder is all I know, and it's what I'm set up for (mostly). If that's ok with you folks, I'll gladly GM something completely random tonight, maybe around 7-8pm Eastern (2-3 hours from now)? -Phnord
well as of now we have 4 players (Mark, Skroth, Justin, and myself)... so we are lacking a Solid DM (depending on if justin wants to try, then we would have 3 players)
Well i am open to Pathfinder, though im mot sure if Skroth is... I think the other players are ok with pathfinder...
So yeah, I'll GM a randomized dungeon crawl game if that's what y'all want. I use a slightly modified version of the Pathfinder character sheets; Mythweavers is a good way to build your characters pre-game then just transfer everything over once we start. Let's do a nice, rich 30 point buy for characters, two traits, anything in the linked rulebooks goes (no third-party weirdness). Y'all decide what level you want to start at, but let's keep it reasonable... 1-5 or so. Average starting gold and equipment. Your characters, barring anything else y'all decide upon, are a random group of adventurers who got drunk together in a tavern and were told by a Mysterious Stranger about great treasure in a nearby underground realm. I'll generate the map randomly, populate it semi-randomly with monsters, and we'll roll treasure up equally randomly. -Phnord I'll send a link out to everyone, once they confirm their interest in this thread.
Cool... I am usually a fighter type character when i play pathfinder How bout starting LvL 3...? Who else is interested?
Any traits allowed?

Unless we start within an hour, I won't be able to join (as Le Mans is on tomorrow) but if this goes ahead on another night then I'd be very interested (semi-new to D&D and Pathfinder but I understand the basics and have done an adventure to learn more than the basics but far from everything). If I join I'd probably want to play a Bard but could chose anything except the Cleric and Paladin as they are more difficult than the other classes (as far as I can tell). Cheers Jonatan
Any random chance there is room for 1 more Phnord? I can run with Pathfinder more then easy enough? Got some free time and don't want it to go to waste.
well i think its ok... seeing is no one else has responded to say they wanted in yet..
lol Alright, I'll set my guy for 3rd level, drumming up a magus.

Ok well to make it a little more ogrinized i am adding a pc chart, so tell me again if you are in and i will add you. Player Class Race Jer Fighter Gnome Bent Magus Tiefling Greg Pally Human Jona bard Catfolk Mark Sorcerer Gnome
I'm in, and a Tiefling Magus
It's Jeremiah's thread, his invite rules. But I have no objection; the more the better (up to about 6-8!). Jonatan, my plan is to gather in about an hour, but we'll be unlikely to actually begin play for another hour after that. And in my experience, these games run late into the night. But I'll keep an eye out for you next time I'm in the mood for a random one-shot. So I'll be sending out a PM to Jeremiah and Bent, Not Broken so far. Jonatan, you're welcome to join us, just lemme know. -Phnord PS: yes, standard two-trait build, 30 points.
so average gold for a LvL 3 or just starting gold(LvL1)?
Average gold for level 3. Do not include one set of armor and one primary weapon in this; your character gets one of each of those 'free'. Maximum HP for level (assume you rolled the highest on your HD every level). (You'll need it!) Two traits 30 point build What else do you need to know for a one-shot like this?

Ok, add me in Phnord, I'll join up. Will most likely be a Catfolk Bard (Bard for sure, maybe slightly different Race). If you want to contact me outside of here: Jonatan Åcerclinth or Navitori-aka-Keinichi-aka-Jonatan on Skype or the first name on FB if you prefer that.
I need a link to the one shot also change my class to pallie and human looks like we'll need the lay on hands

This also changes the spell's type to Electricity. Bonus Bloodline Power Use (4x) Select one bloodline power at 1st level that is normally usable a number of times per day equal to 3 + the sorcerer's Charisma modifier. The sorcerer adds +1/2 to the number of uses per day of that bloodline power. Cantrips You learn a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spells, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again. Defensive Training (Ex) Gnomes get a +4 dodge bonus to AC against monsters of the giant type. Elemental Bloodline (Air) The power of the elements resides in you, and at times you can hardly control its fury. This influence comes from an elemental outsider in your family history or a time when you or your relatives were exposed to a powerful elemental force. Elemental Ray (Sp) You can unleash an elemental ray as a standard action, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. This ray deals 1d6+2 points of electricity damage You can use this ability 9 times per day. Eschew Materials Gnome Magic (Sp) Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain spell-like abilities. Hatred (Ex) Gnomes receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the reptilian and goblinoid subtypes due to special training against these hated foes. Illusion Resistance (Ex) Gnomes get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against illusion spells or effects. Keen Senses (Ex) Gnomes receive a +2 bonus on Perception skill checks. Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day. Magical Lineage (Magic Missile) One of your parents was a gifted spellcaster who not only used metamagic often, but developed many magical items and perhaps even a new spell or two--and you have inherited a fragment of this greatness. When you apply metamagic feats to Magic Missile, treat its actual level as 1 lower for determining the spell's final adjusted level. Obsessive (Ex) Gnomes receive a +2 racial bonus on a Craft or Profession skill of their choice. Reactionary You were bullied often as a child, but never quite developed an offensive response. Instead, you became adept at anticipating sudden attacks and reacting to danger quickly. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks. Resistance to Electricity (Ex) You may ignore 10 points of Electricity damage each time you take electricity damage. Sorcerer Expanded Arcana 2x1 Weapon and Armor Proficiency Sorcerers are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor of any type interferes with a sorcerer's gestures, which can cause his spells with somatic components to fail. Weapon Familiarity (Ex) Gnomes treat any weapon with the word "gnome" in its name as a martial weapon.
Hey guys Phnord had to step away fora some time so don't think we've forgot you if you don't have a link yet.
Links have been sent.
Room for one more?
Sent out the final round of links... check your PMs. Sorry everyone else, game is full. Maybe next time! -Phnord
:::applause::: Congratulations, nobody died! Even the guy stuck at the bottom of the pit with the enormous, angry, heavily-armored monster falling from a great height upon him! I'll have to try harder next time, I suppose. q;} Really, I had a lot of fun. Some good combat, some fun RP, a lotta good laughs. Just how a game should be! Pity we couldn't play later. Oh well, more next time I'm sure! See y'all 'round! -Phnord, who says "Dungeons don't always have to make sense!"
