Hello everyone! Hope you’re staying safe. My gaming group and I recently started a Discord server to keep track of several games we run on Roll20. We’ve played a handful of different systems (D&D 5e, Monster of the Week, Tales From the Loop, Monsterhearts, Pathfinder 2e, etc) and are, for the moment, largely interested in further expanding our repertoire. However, since we are 7 grown adults with jobs and school and life to balance, scheduling has become a bit of a nightmare. For the past few months we’ve been playing either short mini-campaigns or one-shot adventures, jumping between systems and rotating DMs to facilitate anyone who has a fun idea they want to explore. However, given the fact that we so frequently have scheduling conflicts that prevent us from getting ideas and subsequent games off the ground, we’re interested in bringing some fresh faces into the fold. The idea is to have a small community of trusted friends you can look to when searching for a new game to join or players for a game you want to run. I don’t know about you, but gauging whether a random online campaign is going to be inclusive, safe, and fun can be challenging. As a group with LGBTQ+ and POC members, we want to build a space where people like us can explore everything tabletop games have to offer. We’re especially hopeful to open this up to people who don’t already have a dedicated gaming group or haven’t been able to play in a game yet. Many people are eager to enter into the world of TTRPGs but have no idea where to start or don’t have access to open games. Some of our past (and present) games include: Investigating seaside murders to quell the spirits of colonial lesbian ghosts Tracking down the will of a shitty, horny old man and maybe solving an environmental crisis in the process Retired magical girls coming to grips with what it means to come home without getting stuck in the past Hunting down an invisible pyromaniac in a small PNW town while balancing the traumas of our freshman year of high school A vampire dating sim where no one wants to date the vampire There are tons of things we would love to run in the future, including (but not limited to): A Western/cowboy-themed monster hunting mystery [MotW] An SCP/Control-style, American Gothic, West Marches-esque situation [Hunter: The Vigil] A science fantasy and/or space opera sandbox game [Starfinder] This year’s spring musical is set to be a real monster mash, but can anyone stop it from becoming a real graveyard smash? [Monsterhearts] An important Ministry figure is assassinated during the most important Drow cultural festival of the year, and it’s up to you to find out why [Spire: The City Must Fall] We want to move towards a model where we can have a couple of games happening every week, and people can hop in on what agrees with their schedule and sounds fun and interesting to them. In general, we prefer to have a lighter, more narrative tone in the games we run. We’re very easy going people and don’t believe any part of the relationship between a DM and player should be adversarial. If you’re someone who wants to craft a fun and compelling story with some new friends, you’ll fit in just fine. If anything we’ve mentioned interests you, we’d love for you to apply! We’ll get back to you in the next few weeks. Feel free to DM me with any questions you have. Hope to hear from you soon! https://forms.gle/68mLP8GeB9FvvzVS7
