Performance Issues - Lighting?

Hi, I had Plus membership a while back while running a few games and dynamic lighting was always awesome and really helped to bring my players into the game and make everything so much more atmospheric. I had a number of encounters setup and performance wasn't an issue. Recently I've renewed my Plus membership as I have time again to run some games. However, now I have issues where maps I had setup previously are un-playable because of how slow they are - even scrolling around is nearly impossible because of how slow the refresh is. My dynamic lighting layer only uses the polygon line tool and the draw shape tool, I saw on here that free-hand lines cause issues. I've got a map with daylight lighting, 3010 x 1540px, no light sources, 16 NPC tokens without sight, and 1 player token on it and scrolling is so slow I'm wondering if I should just ditch dynamic lighting at all and go back to the FOC method of revealing new areas by hand. Are there any tricks I could try to make this better before simply giving up and cancelling my Plus membership again? Appreciate any help and tips, thanks. Matthew.
Are you using Legacy or "Updated" Dynamic Light?
With Legacy, don't try using Advanced Fog of War and Global Illumination on the same map. It will kill performance.
Hi Matthew, If you are using Ultimate Dynamic Lighting, that system has been badly bugged since rollout months and months ago. If you are using the Legacy Dynamic Lighting, that just started causing issues after the October 6th update to Roll20. What ever was changed altered the way Legacy Dynamic Lighting works, and it now causes major lag for many of us. So far it seems to affect people using Windows 10 and Chrome as their browser (at least, that what is suspected so far). You should post your problems with UDL or LDL lag in the Ultimate Dynamic Lighting thread posted in the thread on Sunsetting Legacy Dynamic Lighting at the top of this forum (like many of us have) to let them know that you too are having issues. I would suggest also adding to your post your computer's operating system and what web browser you are using while accessing Roll20, as they may find that information useful. At this point, I don't think there are any tricks that would work other than maybe turning off LDL and trying the regular Fog of War as a poor substitute. I have not tried that yet myself as since I paid to use LDL on Roll20, I don't feel I should have to find a workaround to a problem on their end.
I have been having a similar problem as a player. My GM has pro but the map he loads appears black for my character. I can see the token but cannot see anything else. I am using Firefox on OSX High Sierra.
