Let's make a true party for a 4e game.

Looking to make a dedicated 4e group that is made to be a group. I.E. the party will consist of One Defender, One Leader, One Controller, and Two Strikers. And do our best to spread skills out. We will also need a DM. Would do it myself. But don't have the dedication right now to play and create a game. I think that at least a mic should be required. Skype might be the best program to use for communication. So respond with what you want to play (at least three choices please), when you can and can't play (best to include timezone), and your experience with 4e (nice mix of new and veterans might be good). I do have a mic and Skype. My role list (in order) 1: Leader 2: Striker 3: Controller My timezone is EST. I can play almost any time but Saturday (got a real-life game going on then) and I do attend some online classes but they won;t affect my ability to play.

Alright. I have reviewed the Posts here and as it stands the players and the roles they selected stand at. Defender: Patrick Leader: Chris Controller: Kelly Striker 1: Ben Striker 2: Jeremy Alternates: John for Defender and Muckity then Andrew for Strikers. DMs: Jeremy and John put this on their lists of roles but they are after their top three. So I won't ask them to DM unless they change their minds. Session time: It seems everyone if free evenings for the weekdays, except for one who can't do Fridays. So I'm thinking Wednesdays starting around 6pm EST, we can move this to a later time or earlier to adjust for different time-zones. Don't want people playing too early or too late. So please respond if you still have interest, are fine with the role you have been assigned and are OK with the time-slot or not.. I chose the roles and player combinations based on primary role chosen by each person, then by first come first serve basis. I.E. Patrick's primary choice was Defender and he was the first to post it, so he was the one I was assigned to it. If we are all set, then I will post to get us a DM and we can set up a time for an informal discussion of race/class combinations.

I am of course fine with role and time-slot. :) I am thinking about playing a Warforged Runepriest. This covers our Leader role and gives us a melee character and a Divine class. (Note: I think it would be great to have at least one of each power source. I.E. Martial, Divine, Arcane, Primal)

Kelly: That sounds like a good character. A primal controller will be great. Shawn: A one time game would be great tonight. Since we have a constructed party. It would be pretty easy to feet it going. I encourage everyone to signup as well.

I have DMed a game for 10 players live before. It can be done. If enough of you want to we may be able to merge the 3-4 people I have into your group (one of mine is actualy one of your alternates) We would just have to agree to be ready on our turn and not waste much time deliberating on what to do.

Yeah. I usually play in a large group. So I'm use to it. The problem is that tactics change sometimes and what you had planned is suddenly obsolete. But an advantage that roll 20 will give us is fast calculation. So it should balance out.

I am planning on starting my campaign on June 25th we are going to play Monday nights starting at 930 CDT for the first 4-5 weeks then reasses when is best for everyone. I am fine with big groups. I think it makes combat more fun.

Wait so if we are doing a big group does that mean I'll get to play?

We will discuss tonight when we get together. It might be better to run two different games and keep the numbers down.

Yeah. Andrew just check out his game tonight. Some of the people I chose for roles also might not show up. This might be the best outcome.

Disappointed that I can't be a player :P But you can't always get what you want. I'm willing to DM; I think my strongest point is building encounters, and it looks like that's what you're looking for. Having a well-balanced group would provide a nice challenge for me as well. I CAN build a nice storyline as well, and I think I'm relatively good at reacting to the crazy things players do, but I'm not the greatest at roleplaying. If that's alright with you, then I'm game. Edit: Roleplaying several characters at once, that is. Like in a tavern or something.
