Hey, a shout out to the deep immersive role-players of the community.  I am a dedicated Dungeon Master of 43 years' experience, running an RP-heavy game. FREE here on Roll20. I try my best to be a thoughtful Dungeon Master in the "Old Skool style" who really wants to make every campaign a great interactive, collaborative experience, and seek players who share that ideal. I am building a group that abhors player-vs.-player conflict, that prefers consensus-building.  In a scenario, the party pulls together like a mule team to get the job done.  We are 3 players and a DM seeking applicants for a position in our group. We want at least 1, possibly 2 more players to add to the group playing a Grim, Homebrew Dark-Ages-Style  Low Fantasy, Low Magic campaign set in a dying Magocracy, beset by evil and religious strife. I want to gather expressive role-players, using a team concept, working together for an RP heavy experience , with story-supported combat, intrigue, puzzles, and lore. I require formal Social contract acceptance to play. We  think the best of each other, minimal player conflict, no spotlight hogs / no murder hobos / No Chaotic Neutral  antics hijacking the story at hand. LGBTQ friendly. Female player friendly. The pitch: 700 years ago... a wave of wild magic swept across the land of the Auld Empire of Uthithar, tearing the land asunder, twisting the very spires of the mountains, and warping the races and beasts of the wild.  Tomes of Ancient Dragon Magicks were burned to ash by the last of the Dragons, lest their terrible power falls into the hands of the upstart humans.  Thus began  the Age of Lost Magick. Now the land is beset by dark human factions, Spirit-Wrack Witches, and Warlocks powered by the demonic and infernal, and their vile pacts of corruption. Many temples have fallen, or wiped out in the night, despite faithful guardians at hand. There are no Paladins, nor Druids left in the Land of the Magocracy of Valonde, and few good-aligned Mages. Thus begins the Age of Dark Magick, and the Tales of the Auld Empire. Looking for 1 more or possibly 2 players, with characters starting at Level 3. DM experience is a plus, but not required. We already have: - a Chaotic Good  LVL 3 Duergar (Deep Dwarf) Artificer Urban Bounty Hunter - a Lawful Good  LVL 3 Wood Elf "Order of the Lycan  Blood Hunter" former Army Scout, afflicted with Lycanthropy - A Lawful Good LVL 3 Human Banneret Fighter Veteran Soldier No Drow, No Half-Orcs, or Tiefling PCs . Dragonborn might be okay if you can explain how your ancestors Survived the Wave of Blackfire, when the actual Dragons are all believed to be dead. No Paladins. No Druids. Looking mostly for traditional classes and races, unless you can demonstrate an impressive dramatic approach to the RP. Long Rests are once a week.  Short rests once a day. I get it that this makes Warlocks powerful. Welcome to the setting. Most Warlock characters are enemies of civilization in this setting. Literally, the land is beset by Warlocks with Dark Pacts. Hard Start at 8 PM Pacific Time Thursdays. We wait 5 minutes, then start with who we have. 3 hour sessions (could go to midnight, if all players agree), once a week. Session 4 planned is coming up 29 October, 2020.   The Recent Story: The party has come into posession of a Dwarven Gauntlet Relic that is being sought by three Dwarven Noble Houses vying for leadership of the Citadel of the Steel Blade Peaks, along a wilderness frontier to the East devastated by war. Lots of maps, and Lore. I do accents. However, My last Name is not Mercer. I do not have a Twitch channel, and do not stream. I am a retired gaming geek, military veteran, writer, and have over 40 years of DM experience, including working in the game industry as an editor. Read my profile.  That's the deal.
I play in this campaign and I just wanna say if you have a lot of imagination and cunning this is the setting for you...
Thank you for leading the party through the labyrinth of Dwarven Politics.
Recent Map. All of my content is homebrew.
Hi Shroud and Company: This sounds amazing  and I would love the opportunity to be a part of it. About me:  I'm Keira, a 45 year old female who is diversity-inclusive, reliable, and really into RP and collaborative storytelling. I have a few decades of experience playing D&D and other systems on and off since I was 17. While I don't have DM experience, I do have a strong appreciation for the time and effort the DM puts into running a campaign and understand the importance of balance between "the DM is God", making sure that rules are consistent and applied fairly, and unnecessary rules-lawyering. I abhor the "fuck the DM" mentality of players who obsess about optimizing over creating interesting characters and enjoy exploiting gamebreaking combinations and loopholes. We're all here to have fun and support each other, and that includes supporting the DM. As a player I will will show up on time every time excited to play, laugh at your accents and jokes, and cheer on your terrifying homebrew monster at the same time as I shake my fist at their legendary actions and mutter to myself "oh god, we're screwed, aren't we?" I'm currently involved in 2 long-term (1+ years each) homebrew campaigns and helping with worldbuilding for a 3rd. My last long-term campaign was a 4-year 4E one set in the world of Ivalice (FFXII, Vagrant Story, Ogre series). We saved the world from oppressive A.I. "gods" but had to sever the world's connection to magic in the process. I'm not new to grimdark and commitment for the long haul definitely isn't a problem for me. It's traditional to pitch a character concept in an application, but for a grand campaign like this I prefer to know as much as possible about the world in order to create a character that fits well into the setting and story we're all trying to build together. If I sound like someone you'd consider for your game, I'd love to hear from you. I'm TeaMistress#5893 on Discord if you want to chat me up. I'm a few hours ahead of you in CST, but I don't mind staying up a bit late once a week for a good story with fun people. I don't have kids, so I'm still in a decent position to champion the "sleep is for the weak" battle cry, right?

Hello Shroud, I know you made this original post about a month ago but if you are still looking for a player or 2 please let me know. I was with a group of players on this exact time every Thursday but our DM recently had to stop due to job and life changes. I myself am interested as well as have a buddy would love to join side too if possible. Let me know! You can also message me on discord. My name is Wramor#4736
Keira, and Cory: Thank you both for your interest. I run the game from Thailand via roll20 at my 10 am, which works out to be 8 PM pacific. Just woke up here at 5:30 am to get my son to school.  I will be in contact with you both, perhaps this evening USA time.   Yes Cory, the game started a month ago pre session 0. Heading into session 4 this Thursday night.
Hello, I don't know if you've already filled up, but if not I'd like to throw my name in. I'm Andrew, a reasonably experienced player and DM of 24. Most of what I've done has been short term either by design or just life, but I've always wanted to play more and be in a longer term game like the one you're describing. Seriously, I've built characters for every class that are just sitting around waiting. I also have a theatre degree and am BIG on the roleplay side of things; not to say that I dislike the mechanical elements (quite the exact opposite, actually), but a game is never fun for me unless the players have a good in-character rapport.  This sounds like a really amazing campaign you're starting, and I'd love to be a part of it! I think that homebrew worlds make for the best settings, because the DM is invested in the story, and the players can be a deeper part of the world. If you have a spot or want to talk more, I'd be happy to talk over PM or Discord (Misting#3230). My work as an online tutor leaves me with a very flexible schedule and I can guarantee making sessions for anything other than a life-crisis. I'd love to hear more about the background of the world, any other special rules to be aware of, and to talk character options.
Okay, Misting. Well met. I am a bit busy today with campaign maintenance and outside issues. But I wanted to respond to.let you know I saw this.
