Casual DM Seeking Players for Homebrew/Module Mix

Just putting the feelers out if 3-4 players want to do a weekly(ish) campaign. The best time for me would be Tuesdays anytime between 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM Central Daylight Time (I follow daylight saving time). My 2nd best day would be Thursdays at the same time. If neither gets enough interest, I could do Sundays, but it would be less often. I'm grabbing players on a "first come first served" basis. I might run some official modules within a homebrew world, just changing names. However, other parts would be completely my own. I plan on running it as a continuous, free, casual campaign. You would use the same characters every time unless you wanted me to write them out or your character died. I mostly use Adventurer's League rules (so characters would have to be compatible with it), but I do make a few changes. I would be fine with running a Session 0 if you want to talk about the party and game while creating characters and backstories. Just know that this would also be the first time I used Roll20 in conjunction with other people, and I don't know a lot of the ins and outs of the website. Some guidelines for character creation: * The amount of deities is staggering depending on the setting. I'll be mostly limiting it to those found in the 3rd Edition PHB for simplicity. If you want to worship another deity, that's probably fine. They'll usually be considered a minor one then. * Pick common languages if you have access to several. If something obscure comes up, I'll probably give you the benefit of the doubt to keep things moving. * Ignore coin weight. It's annoying and I find it unnecessary. * Keep track of your ammunition. If you run out, be honest. You can always buy or craft more very cheaply. * Tell me if you are crafting, casting light, casting detect magic, healing, and so on. If you don't tell me you are performing a specific action, I will assume you did not do it. * If something is not obvious from your race, class, and backstory, your character probably does not know it. For instance, if your character was a farmer, they may know what wolves are, but not bugbears. If you feel more comfortable messaging me directly, that's fine too. I want everyone to feel comfortable no matter how long they have been playing. I myself have not run a game in a while, and it has been even longer since I have played.
I'd be interested but i could only do the Sunday. Dean
I assume this is Dungeons and Dragons, but what edition?
5th Edtion. I used to play a lot of Pathfinder too though, so you might see some crossover.
I am interested
I would love to be apart of this only day im not available is Sunday
I am super interested in this. Thursdays work best for me. Let me know!
Tentatively, it looks like the best option for most people right now is Thursdays (Although I have a bit of a preference for Tuesdays). Due to that, RavenSmoke, Bryan K., and Cory H. are (tentatively) locked in. There are a couple brand new players looking for games that I replied to on their own threads, and I'm waiting to hear anything from either of them. I'll post again as things change, but this thread might be done by the end of tomorrow (10/28/20)!

All are welcome. However, the earliest I can start a game would be 1:00 PM Central Time (think Chicago time).
I’ve been looking for a 5e game to play that isn’t on the weekend. So this seems perfect! I’d need to double check times, but Tuesday or Thursday should be good for me. (Tuesday being favoured) So if you still have a slot and are interested in having me as a player, then please let me know!

Thanks for the reply to my post on helping a new player. I would be interested, but please know that this would be my first experience with tabletop. I am an avid PC crpg player, that has always wanted to try tabletop.  Times/days I would be available from 2pm onwards on Tuesdays. This would be 7pm GMT for me which works really well. I could also do Sundays.
Good afternoon! I'm far away on the other side of the ocean and you're probably already filled up on slots, but I guess I'll throw in my lot as well - I just now realized that 1pm CDT ends up being around 7pm for me, which would actually work out rather well. Also, Tuesdays are perfect for me. I'm 28, soon to be 29, girl from Germany. I'd say I'm rather experienced by now, been in several campaigns before, more oneshots than I can count, and admittedly have a kind of addiction to commissioning character art. (Ha, seems like Grant is from around here, too!)
With the current posts, the majority prefer Tuesdays. The group I'm tentatively locking in then is; RavenSmoke, Cory H (Please let me know if Tuesdays don't work). Bryan K., VaughanAtLarge, Grant (Who has never played before), and Lea ------ Dean S. Thank you for your interest. If I end up running anything on Sundays, I'll let you know first. Jtty22. Thank you for your interest. If an opening occurs, for this time slot, I will let you know first. ------ All slots are filled at this point.  This is already on the larger side for my usual groups. If any of you would like a Session 0 for questions and character creation, please let me know. NOTE: This was edited since I have been persuaded to allow 6 Players. If things are a little disjointed to start, please be patient. I am much more used to smaller groups.
sounds good to me Session zero sounds fun do we need to hop in a discord or something or is everything we are doing going to be on roll 20?
I can do tomorrow
Great! I'll talk to you then.
I unfortunately can't do Tuesday for I have work that pretty much takes up the whole day. Cheers to you all and wish you the best of luck. If you end up ever doing a campaign on Thursdays def. let me know Connor.
I can certainly do thursdays or tuesdays if you are still looking! I adore being the comedy relief, but not to the point where I'm annoying or trolling the party, however a guilty pleasure of mine is playing goblins/bugbear characters or even minotaurs, I can play other races but these are the ones I adore playing alot! but as stated if the party or dm says " Hey... we might catch alot of heat from you being a goblin.. think you can be something else?" I will gladly change it up if asked. if interested my discord name is Flannel Fantom#1360 feel free to add me! once again thank you for taking the time to read this and have a great and safe day!
Cory H. I appreciate your response. If I do start anything on Thursdays, you'll be the first to know. I hope everything goes well for you. Flannel F. I sent you a player link for the campaign since we do have an opening now. I have no problems with you playing a goblin, kobold, or similar race.
Thanks to Flannel F., Grant, and Bryan K. for taking part in the meeting today! I know there were some technical issues, especially with sound. If the audio connection continues being poor, we may play on here and simultaneously talk on Discord. if that is the case, everyone would have to be signed in on both at the same time. If you hear an echo, it will be because the sound is being picked up by both platforms at once. In that case, just mute yourselves on Roll20 and you should come through fine on Discord. For everyone who we didn't get the chance to talk to: The group's URL on Discord is discord.gg/kesrED. If you can't get in, one of the four of us can try to allow you. I gave Bryan K. GM powers in our Roll20 campaign group for some of the technical things. Hopefully, we can take care of anything you need us for in that respect. Again, my Discord username is Connor M#1936. You can also private message me on Roll20. So far: Grant is a Human Rogue Flannel F. is a Goblin Druid and Bryan K. is a Bugbear Barbarian ------ You can roll your stats or point buy, and you can make your character through Roll20, D&D Beyond, or any character creation tool you prefer. You can take uncommon or rare races as long as they don't get too out there. Please no Aarakocra.
What level are you starting the campaign at?
Level 1. Unfortunately, every slot is full currently. If you would like, I can definitely keep you in mind if we end up with a shortage.  I would also be happy to contact you if I start running an additional group. Either way, good luck in your gaming.
