The party continues to search the first level of the Serpent Cult dungeon, searching in vain for a descending passage, down deeper, towards the priestess who rules the lair. The party discovered a dining hall, seemingly left in haste by some diners. Oddly, a false door existed in the room. To the south of the food hall was a barrack lined hallway. As the party left the hall they were suddenly accosted by several CULTISTS of SET who began their ambush, lead by a PRIEST whom the party first encountered in their initial foray down a rickety, staircase from the surface. The party made short work of the CULTISTS, with MOGANI the WHITE APE destroying green robed men with his flurry of pounding blows. To the north, another door lay on the opposite site of a pool of mud. FREYA, using her BROOM, at GORHAM's request, flew the two over the mud pool, only to discover yet another false door. Why this illogical architecture? We may never know. On her return flight FREYA noticed some MOVEMENT within the pool. ANNIKA, investigating discovered what appeared to be a sentient GREEN SLIME! Acting quickly, she began to throw lit TORCHES onto the pool which burnt the SLIME that was incapable of escape. Encountering a flooded, passage the party moved south where they encountered a siren song of sorts, seeming sung to seduce the soldiers sent to cease the subterranean serpents! But the party was strong and not one fell to the nefarious noise. Seeing it was best to rest due to injuries and a lack of magical energies, the party holed themselves up in a barracks where they managed to rest for but an hour before hearing the horrendous sounds of some unknown creatures speaking in some garbled inhuman tongue.
