Looking for players for RP heavy pathfinder via Skype

OK so I'm looking for players add the post indicates. I have a great gaming group but they tend to care more about joking and funny characters than serious and dark narrative sort of experiences. So I'm looking for 3 or more players to play (me as the Gm) via Skype for a one shot I've been working on. I'm looking for players who prefer immersion and the experience of truly getting into character. Who like to portray their characters with both strengths and weaknesses. Who truly can breath life into this narrative that were creating together. I'll require at least a couple of paragraphs of back story. I think it helps the immersion if you have characters that are ACTUALLY part off the world they are playing in. I usually try to integrate parts of the player back story into the gameplay as much as I can. Injecting family members or allies or old ties. I'll need a mature crowd (that has nothing to do with age lol) who is fine with playing a game that doesn't rely on maps and minis but is OK on relying on the imagination. I also tend to play pretty late so that sometimes becomes an issue for some responsible types lol. so if interested just let me know on here or send me a pm and we'll get it going. Thanks guys!
I sent you a pm :)
I'd be all over this but for the fact it's a one-shot. Creating a character with proper depth for one evening only, never to be seen again, seems an awful waste.
Definitely interested, but the decision on time and date will be of most importance before a final decision is made.
If it works out we could extend it further. I just mainly wanna feel it out. That any my wife is due with our first child in a week so ill be out of the mix for a while! But I'd like to pick it back up again. There's a lot of political movement in this first game alone. And to clarify, What I mean by roleplay heavy are things like: - Players cannot say "I'm a wizard" or "I'm a fighter". I'm looking for more a descriription of your attire, stature, bearing and personal philosophies and experience. And let the other players draw what they will from your description. - I dont believe in ignoring things like food and water. Things you need to survive! I'm lenient as far as saying im sure you're eating if youre in a city. But if you're in the wilderness, I hope you take things with you. - If you get damaged. I'll let you know how much damage you took. But damage isnt just subtracted from your hitpoints (in fact I wish there was a non-hp related system). It's your ankle twisting, or that blade sliding between your ribs. Its that sharp crack you hear when you landed the wrong way. I hope this adds to the immersion plenty. And to hopefully answer the rest of your questions. I hope you have it on a thursday, friday or sunday (though i can do mondays as well) probably STARTING at 11pm or midnight. As I say, I play late.
What timezone are you at, and do you have any lore for your campaing we can know about, or is it the standard pathfinder setting?
I'm on eastern time. Theres some lore that will be released to the players if interested. Playing it close to the chest for an in-game effect im going for. I'll release it to the players closer to the game time. Expect an absent authority, betrayal, life and death situations that are NOT monsters, and lots and lots of running for your life.
I am intrigued I have to admit. That being said, when you say we must use our imagination for things rather than relying on maps, you do intend to use at least a grid for combat right? Narrative stories are fine for out of combat situations, but once a battle gets underway, we definitely need something.
There will be grids at least for combat-type situations. If it's important. If you guys are running down the hallway and theres an inept guard picking his nose, im not going to have a map for that or probably even make you roll for initiative. Just attack him, we'll worry about it if it comes to it. Theres also situations where it'll be absolutely necessary. There's a crime scene in the one shot that it will help to know the layout. I would draw that up for you so you know where everything is.
Oh, you would know the saying "If you hear something too good to be true...", well that's the situation for me I am afraid, yet it all sounded well to every detail. Your Midnight is mine 6am, and all circumstances taken in consideration, I probably won't be able to make it long term campaign, but for a one-shot, that could be an option at least. Also considering the third point you made, could that be "countered" by a propper application of the Heal Skill, to cure, or accellerate curing, or said injuries?
It seems very interesting, I would like to see the lore you mentioned (that is not secret from the characters).

I'd be interested as well but given the impending birth, I doubt you're going to have much time for gaming for six months or so, if not longer. Congratulations by the way.
Animusu: Of course! Anything you could realistically apply would make sense. I would hope you would be able to roleplay it out, and justify, etc. Like tell me HOW you heal, not just that youre rolling a heal check, you know? Geshlar: All I'm revealing right now is that all the players are in some way friends or relatives of Nicolas Trideheart, Steward of Valismorn. He takes his role very seriously and does it well, despite being a loud and boisterous host. He speaks excellently and eloquently when need be, but can be an ass in private company. But, he's a good man. The king himself has been away from the country for 10 years at the present, fighting the undead scourge in the north. There has been no word from him in over a year and rumors have started to spread that he is dead. Nicolas himself would be the rightful heir, should anything happen. Followed, by his son, William, one or two others, then yourselves perhaps. Nicolas has met a woman and they have decided to be married! It is a large, lavish ceremony (classic Nicolas) and half the village is invited. The other half turned up anyways. Afterwards at the reception, you will get to meet the noble powerhouses of the nation and even stay in the castle itself. But that night, in the castle walls, more than wine may be spilled. The rest will be released to the players before the game is played (mostly because I plan on writing details around character backgrounds)..
Ok, cool! I think I got a good number of willing participants! If interested, please send me a private message VIA Skype. I'm putting the group officially together and there are not many seats left. We'll discuss the rest of the game details through there. My nickname on there is ferninjitsu. See you soon.
