The difficulty should range from 0 to 10 TASK DIFFICULTY DESCRIPTION TARGET NO. GUIDANCE 0 Routine 0 1 Simple 3 Most people can do this 2 Standard 6 Typical task requiring focus, 3 Demanding 9 Requires full attention; most 4 Difficult 12 Trained people have a 50/50 5 Challenging 15 Even trained people often fail 6 Intimidating 18 Normal people almost never 7 Formidable 21 Impossible without skills 8 Heroic 24 A task worthy of tales 9 Immortal 27 A task worthy of legends 10 Impossible 30 A task that normal humans couldn't. Level 4 Difficult is the break point where this is inaccurate. On the sheet in existence, it does not match the chart above. Page 15 of the Numenera Core book has the correct table / chart. (printed above.) I'm not a sheet author, just reporting. If there is errata on this in the Numenera system, I'm not aware of it. Just ran my first game of this, from the book, and the entire group noticed that rolls were listed as failing, when told what text line to use. Thanks to anyone who might take a look at this. If there's a coding reason to do it the way it is, my apologies.

with no response after 5 days, I will attempt to modify this myself, in accordance with the chart referenced from core rules book. action taken: Edited Numenera.html to correct the roll d20 Difficulty names prompts in coded lines 335-344 routine>Simple. Simple>Standard. Standard>Demanding. Demanding>difficult. to reflect an accurate listing of the core rules difficulty categories matched to those of Numenera (tm) core rules book, DIFFICULTY CHART, Bottom of page 15 this change was cosmetic in effect only, changed names to reflect accurate chart, not associated die rolls values, or roll coding. respectfully, Felix P.
