I am a DM looking for five or six
players for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist , Sundays from 1-4pm EST (6-9pmUTC). Check out the LFG listing here
About
Me:
I have over ten years of
DM experience overall, and I've spent the last five years on a
long-form D&D3.5 campaign, plus various one-shots, adventures, and
modules sprinkled throughout. Most of my time has been spent in D&D
3.5, but I also have plenty of experience with D&D 5e and
Pathfinder. I have worked with both newcomers and veterans, and have
helped a good many new players figure out and become comfortable with
the rules. I emphasize the group-storytelling aspect of tabletop:
I'm here to help the party tell their story, and look good
while they do it.
The
Campaign:
This will be a
campaign that generally follows the main story beats of the
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist adventure module, which I have run before. There will be expansions,
additions, and improvisations to exactly how it goes, to better suit
group interests.
So what is Waterdeep: Dragon Heist? From the official roll20 blurb for the book: WELCOME TO WATERDEEP! A fantastic treasure trove is yours for the taking in this adventure for the world's greatest roleplaying game. Famed explorer Volothamp Geddarm needs you to complete a simple
quest. Thus begins a mad romp through the wards of Waterdeep as you
uncover a villainous plot involving some of the city’s most influential
figures. A grand urban caper awaits you. Pit your skill and bravado against
villains the likes of which you’ve never faced before, and let the
dragon hunt begin!
Schedule:
We will meet once
per week, Sunday from 1-4PM EST (6-9UTC). Sessions will be three
hours long, with a five-minute-or-so break in the middle of each. I
expect this will last for 6 months to a year. We will begin with a
free “session zero” to get acquainted with one another, discuss
character and story ideas, and otherwise prepare for the campaign. Tentative first session time is set for November 29th, but our official start will depend on interest and availability.
Rules
and Expectations:
We will be using Discord for voice
communication. Video will NOT
be expected of the players.
Be decent. This campaign will be LGBTQ+
friendly. There will be zero tolerance for sexism, racism, homophobia,
transphobia, ableism, and other forms of bigotry.
Players of any level of experience are
welcome. Whether you've been playing since AD&D or this is your
first foray into tabletop, you are welcome to join this campaign.
Just be ready and able to invest yourself and try. I will
accommodate for newer or less-experienced players, to help get them
caught up.
No homebrew content will be allowed for
character creation. All official WotC content will be allowed. This
includes Unearthed Arcana content, with the caveat: all UA content
must be checked with the DM ahead of time.
Engage. Tell me,
or the group, what you as a player and as a character want out of
this campaign and world. Help us all, as a group, to tell a
meaningful story.
Regular
attendance will be expected. I respect that sometimes life happens,
especially in the current ongoing global pandemic situation. Sometimes sessions will be missed. This is okay.
However, this is a paid group activity wherein your presence or
absence will affect the dynamic, so I ask that you do your best to
attend every session, and let us know as far in advance of any absence
as you can. If you have paid for a session that you miss, your
payment can either be applied to the next session or refunded to you,
your choice.
Application:
If you are interested, please fill out
the following either via roll20 private message or as a reply in this
thread. If I don't get back to you within a day or so of your application, please assume that the site is being wonky about PMs and try again.
