Hello there! I’m posting this to see if there is any interests in creating a simple (virtual) tabletop version of Danganronpa. Seeing how the last post on this topic was years ago, this may never come to fruition but better to have tried and failed, right? I’m looking specifically for people who are good at creating murder mysteries themselves (to present as a case to the others). There isn’t a lot set in stone and I personally don’t believe in creating an overly rigid framework that blocks creativity. So everything is still up for debate and change if you have better ideas. Drop a post if you think you’d be up to making something fun together! What I have in mind so far is the following: 5ish people playing 2-3 characters each Every “murder” has an organising DM playing as Monokuma for that round (this role will rotate through the players) Any one character may try to murder any other character (even their own) The murderer will work with the organising DM to plot the murder, establish evidence etc. There will be two phases: The evidence phase and the trial phase In the evidence phase (short): Players may explore and gather evidence May use their Ultimate Talent to do so In the trial phase: There’ll be several rounds of non-stop debates to determine e.g. Murder weapon Mens rea (motive) Murder setting Everyone role-plays as their characters (DM may compel certain characters to say a specific line (e.g. to be used as consent/counter points but not necessarily)) Players may interrupt with the right piece of evidence to agree/disagree with statements Monokuma/DM judges the validity of interrupts There has to be a valid consent/counter to move on to the next phase Players do not know each other’s roles (or whether any one statement was compelled by DM)
