Thanks for the response matey, I've been DMing for several years with dynamic lighting on Roll20 now, I know how to set this stuff up for my own campaigns.
My questions are specifically around the Alien Modules that claim to have dynamic lighting set up but don't appear to. The tokens to which I refer are the pregen PCs that come with the game which you would expect to have vision set up for if dynamic lighting was active.
Basically I'm trying to find out if it's a bug, another half-arsed and incomplete pair of modules, or if it's just been entirely mis-sold.

For efficiency, most NPC/Monster tokens should not be set with "Has Sight" as it can slow the game down if too many tokens can see. Usually player tokens should be the only ones that have sight enabled. As the GM you can see everything. If you have a question about an NPC's line of sight to a player token, you can select the player token and use Ctrl-L and check line of sight to the NPC. The ruler can also be handy for this.
If it's the player tokens that need sight, you can set that up once on a token and then update the character's default token.
- Edit a player token to set it the way you want it to work/appear. Leave the token selected.
- Open the character sheet that token represents.
- Click the Edit button.
- If there is a token in the Default Token (Optional) section, hover the mouse over the upper right corner of that square and click Remove. Confirm the deletion.
- Now click the Use Selected Token button.
- Click Save Changes.
Now, any time you or a player drags a player character sheet's name onto the table top, it will create a token just like the one you had selected.
