Introduce Yourself (Player, GM, or both; time zone)

Hello Friends, + Player + Pacific Standard Time (GMT-8) or Daylight Time (GMT-7) My name is Bryan and I've been playing tabletop RPGs since the early 80s. I have no experience with FATE. I just started reading the rules and watched a Youtube video of others playing. I really like the concept. It appears 2d20 games like Star Trek Adventures and Conan borrowed heavily from it. I really like story games and when TTRPGs have a good story at their core. Hack and slash murder-hoboing isn't my preferred style of play. I like a more nuanced approach and story.
Hello All, Type: GM but will be a player for one shots mostly. Time Zone: Pacific Daylight Time (UCT -8/-7 because of daylight savings) I've been playing for only a few years in table top gaming since 2016 I believe. I started out playing Dungeons & Dragons, but found Fate Core and love how it ties player narrative into the mechanics to make it so their almost always working together instead of being separate things. I have mostly been a GM for Fate but would like to be a player sometimes for short adventure/stories. I've only GMed for friends and family and want to branch out and run games for more people.
Hey Guys it Ryku, Im back on the roll20 scene. Im kinda a vet but its been awhile. TimeZone:EST Im looking into getting back into the TTRPG scene on roll20 and Im looking forward to playing the fate system. If anyone has any high fantasy or Rifts setting campaigns open please feel free to message me.

Hello everyone! As my handle shows, I am a game master. I have been running RPG's since the early 80's. Not very often have I been a player. I am hoping to find some kind people that will allow me to learn FATE as a player. It is my long term desire to run FATE games, but I want to get a good feel for the game before trying to do so. My Time Zone: MST
Hello Everyone! I am Apoc! I am quite new to Fate and would very much enjoy playing as a player! My timezone is EST. I have no experience with Fate, I want to learn how to play and play any character I could think of. Here's to playing with you all! - Apoc
Hello, I'm Joseph Carr. I usually GM games, and I'm also a game developer. I'm working on a powered by Fate game right now that's called "Senjitsu Jidai." You can check it out here and also download an adventure from Free RPG Day . I'm looking forward to running games and sharing my world with y'all.

Hi, we're Jeri and Cherry. We have only been playing Fate for a little while, still very new. We were playing Call of Cthulhu and switched over to try Fate of Cthulhu. Central Time Zone
Hi I'm Michael. I've never played Fate before but would love to give it a try. I am looking to play on Friday nights and weekends. EST.
Role : GM & Player Time Zone : UTC/GMT +2 hours (FRANCE) Hello, my name is Gwen and I'm still a beginner with FATE, I ran a few session using Deep Dark Blue (world of adventure, FATE core) irl, but I struggle to find players or GM irl, so here I am ^^ Gwen
Hello, Iron here. Based on Turkey so GMT+3, I have been playing FATE for 1.5 years. Also I have been a GM for a year.
Hey There, Kyle here from the Eastern Time Zone (-5). pretty fresh to tabletops in general, I've played some D&D over the years, but the system has never really clicked with me usually the characters I want to play aren't represented by the system. Stumbled across fate a little while back and it seems pretty cool and I'm looking to get into it. hopefully once things settle down I can get some of my in person friends to run through a game. I'm definitely looking to do a couple games as a player to get how the system feels/ is ran before I look at GMing here
Hello + GM and (very rarely) Player + timezone is CET (GMT+1) My name is Markus and I'm German. I've been gaming since the late eighties. I have been playing mostly D&D (2E, 3E, 3.5E, 4E) and Pathfinder for a long time, but I was always trying something new, so I've encountered a lot of other game systems. Since 2017 I started three Torg Eternity campaigns that are still running, one of which on Roll20. I've GMed two short-lived FATE Core campaigns a while ago and will soon be starting a new one here.
HellO! Im new to the fate system but I play a lot of D&D and other systems (usually more based around the d20 or similar) I found the FATE system because of a game I really want to DM that is a mix of FATE Accelerated with CODEX, I was fascinated by the idea of how the system FAE works but I dont think i fully get it just by reading it soo I wanted to both play FAE games to get a better grasp of how it works and if anyone willing to DM to play the other game that is a mix called Demon Hunters: A Comedy of Terrors My timezone is GMT, and Im a huge geek so most "geeky" themes for games are awesome for me
I'd like to play some Fate too, I'm on BST at the moment. I've got Mecha vs Kaiju which I'd like to DM but I want to play some FATE as a player first to get to grips with it.
Good time of day to y'all Role: Player Timezone: US Central Time I'm Dmitriy. From Russia originally, now live in US. I'm fairly new to TTRPGs, but have played my fair share of tabletop games, and am familiar with a couple common systems. I do lean to narrative-based games, so Fate feels like a natural fit, especially since it's not limited to just fantasy settings. I'm almost always available on Tuesdays; can also do Thursdays and Fridays, but it's not a guarantee on those.
Greetings. My name is Sean. Role: Player and potential GM. Timezone: Pacific Standard Time (UTC -8) (North America) I'm currently a complete beginner to Fate, but I'm interested in learning how to play. The fast and loose nature of it appeals to me. Most of my experience is with classic 80s D&D. Feel free to PM me about any beginner-friendly one-shot or mini games. I'm available on some Fridays and Saturday in my timezone, but also open to play-by-post games. Looking forward to it.
Hello Everybody, Role: GM or Player Timezone: Eastern Standard Time (-5) or Eastern Daylight Time (-4) My name is Zachary and I’m new to FATE. I GM’d a brief D&D campaign earlier this year and played in a couple D&D one shots but that’s the limit of my in-game ttrpg experience. I’ve read a lot of rulebooks for various different systems though, including FATE Core! I’m really interested in playing a FATE game. I especially love how the system is simple and flexible compared to D&D 5e, as well as the fact that it's extremely well suited for narrative games. I think I’d prefer to GM a game, though I’d be happy to play in one as well!
I'd like to GM and run a Mecha vs Kaiju Fate game but would like to do more Fate as a player first.
Hello everyone! I'm in the GMT timezone. I like classic PI stuff and am both a GM and Player.

Hello, + Role: Player but eventually would like trying GM. + time zone: (GMT+2) I'm Ana. I have been playing ttrpg for like 4-5 years. I have played a few systems and like the variety. Sadly the FATE is not one of them. But I find the system super interesting and fun especially the emphasis on narrative and how who the character is as a person is essential to the characters mechanical side. I tried learning the game on my own by reading the official books but that just creates more confusion so I hope getting some in-field experience would help. When it comes to the type of games I like, I'm ok with anything, but I'm interested in stuff that is set in contemporary ore science fiction settings (anything that isn't basic DND setting. I like those but I am just tired of them). And when it comes to the tone, I prefer stuff that is a bit more lighthearted and cheery. I've been stuck in depressing, serious games so I want to play something that isn't going to kick start another existential crisis lol.
Hi! Role: Player, hope to learn to GM cringy homebrews some day. Time zone: GMT+1 Been trying to play TTRPGs and interested in FATE in particular for a long time, Kafkian levels of scheduling problems. Little experience with TTRPGs, still not very comfortable RPing. (Actually, not even confortable humaning) Sci-fi over fantasy, yet somehow love discworld and dresden files. Life's too short for pronouns.
hello there Im Flux, i've been playing table tops for accouple of years, i love doing voices for my characters but im abit shy at the first few session i'm live in the UK (GMT 0) im mostly the player but i have some interest in doing some DMing with some stuff ive been writing up
Fate Core I am EST (Ohio) Hi, I've read the Fate Core rules and watched some game play videos. I have historically been the DM in D&D, Pathfinder, or LFG games, so I am looking more to DM than be a player. But I would play to learn. I am EST (Ohio). I'd like to try other settings than fantasy simply because I've been rooted in that genre for so long I just want something different. What would be optimal are one-shots just to reinforce the various rule structures and potential 'Tool Kit' hacks that I'd like to try. I am not ready to start a longer running game, but rather just have a place to gain confidence with the mechanics. If you're looking for a place to get you from 'this looks cool, how does it work?' to being comfortable enough to join/start a game, then feel free to shoot me a message. :-)

I am in CST and I would love to play a game of Fate Core. I have heard a lot about it and would like to try. I am pretty open to new settings, but I am getting tired of medieval fantasy. It is time for something new.
Hi, I'm Eric. + PLAYER + EST (GMT-5), EDT (GMT-4) I’m really looking for a SciFi FATE Game, maybe along the lines of Bulldogs! by Galileo Games, or maybe even Hard SF like Diaspora. Something cool and spacey! I'm available midweek mostly; I currently DM my own 5e game on Saturday mornings.
Howdy I'm Frank. To be Frank, you gotta change your name or be born with it. No apologies for the terrible pun I'm a player, GMT +8 A DND friend recommended Fate to me.
Hello everyone! I'm Tarumir and I've been playing all different kinds of RPGs for the better part of 20 years. I've tried loads of different stuff, like Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, D&D of course, and a few varieties of indie games (pbta, blades in the dark and so on). I've been interested in FATE for a while but only actually got to play it once until now, in a game of The Secrets of Cats, which was a blast :-) As for settings, my favourite is generally low or heroic fantasy, but I'm fairly open to most kinds of setting. As I said , the Cats game was really cool and I'd be delighted to play it again or to find more such gems :-D + Player + GMT+1 Thanks for the invite!
Hey all, I'm Camille! I like the role playing aspect of table top games and I'm interested in that part of the FATE game. PST Player or GM (once I get the hang of the rules a little bit better) I haven't had the opportunity to play FATE yet because I haven't had people to play with, I'd really like to join a group of people who are comfortable role playing and respectful of each other :) Thanks for the invite and for hosting this forum!
Salutations fellow escapists, I'm Butcher. PST (GMT -8) I have been playing RPGs since about 1999, when I met some new friends who were into D&D and playing a campaign in 3.5. I've played many games since but found a real love for FATE Accelerated when I got to play a quick pick-up one-shot with my best friend and two strangers while attending a convention called DunDraCon about 5 years ago. The concept was a mix of the television show "Once Upon A Time" and the web series "Marble Hornets". The 30-second character creation and the "everyone pitches into the story" idea hooked me. Since then I try to play a game at DunDraCon whenever I can but they're few and far between. I've created Fate Accelerated games that I've ran for my son, but other than that I have not really GM'd a game. I just haven't gotten up the gumption. That said I do enjoy world building, creating histories, and stories. As a player I like to think that I'm pretty outgoing and try to include everyone in my shenanigans. I can get along with pretty much anyone and constructive criticism is always welcome. I listen to a lot of CritCrab on YouTube and like to think the fact that I cringe means I'm a decent person. I will bend over backwards to be respectful and make everyone comfortable. I will also let people know if they are acting in a manner that could be construed as unbecoming. I'm open for one-shots and longer committments. I'm brand new to Roll20, so I'm still terrible at using it but I get the gist and ask only for patience. I'm really excited for the possibilities opened up by joining this group. Thanks for the invite!

Howdy-do! Player , sometimes GM Peru Time Zone ( GMT-7 ) My name is Sergio, I've been into roleplaying games since the 80s but never quite started playing, just reading a bunch of books. Used to play mostly old D&D computer games. Later got into Rifts, which I hate (and now mostly just make fun of), then GURPS, and then found about this little gem called FUDGE. Saw a bit of FATE (uppercase) back in the day but didn't draw my attention until Spirit of the Century and Dresden, still didn't really have anyone to play with and the internet was too unsophisticated for anything except forum-based games. Eventually got my break by playing a bit with some people I met at work who played a pretty jury rigged, messy version of AD&D+3E that I didn't like. That was when the Fate (lowercase) Kickstarter arrived and I backed it, then convinced some of these guys to run a couple Fate games - we didn't enjoy them, but I'm pretty sure it was because they were pretty antagonistic about trying a different type of game. I've run games like Secrets of Cats, Camelot Trigger, hacked versions of Atomic Robo that I used to run a published Spycraft game, and also tried to make my own pen and paper version of Star Control: Ur-Quan Masters, which was fine I suppose. For the last few years I've been playing regularly with a group online over Discord and Roll20 and I'd say that has been my most successful experience. Normally as a player, but I did run a few scenarios (2-3 months I think?) of Jadepunk and I quite liked it, I leaned heavily on letting the players create the story, and made some interesting minigame/contest thing that wasn't too bad. We still play on Thursdays and in all that time we've tried about half of the published Fate worlds, both Core and Accelerated. In this group I'd probably be more interested in running games than playing them. Anyway thanks for having me and so forth, cheers!
Hi Everyone, Player (someday a GM) Pacific Time (GMT-8) I live in California and would love to play Fate. I've played a fair amount of D&D in my day but I recently guest-starred at a D&D/Fate hybrid game that made me realize that I *really* wanted to play games that center the narrative, rather than rules. I'm concurrently exploring some theatre improv classes which are also scratching this itch, as well as developing my skills for thinking on my feet. I pick up systems pretty easily and have tried to study up on Fate but I really need to play an actual game to get comfortable with the system. I'm open to whatever genre. Ultimately, I would want to try my hand at GMing too, but first I need to play. Hope this forum will connect me with like-minded folks. warm regards, José
Thanks for inviting me to join the group. I'm J.R. Player for now with hopes of GMing in the future I'm in the EST Zone (GMT -5) I have so far only read the rules and listened to some actual play podcasts, but I'm looking forward to becoming a player, and, with more familiarity, I think I'll be interested in GMing eventually too. I have played a campaign in D&D 5e but don't have any other pen and paper RPG experience yet. I'm a professional voice actor, but rarely get the opportunity to practice improv or work live with other performers, so I'm very interested in digging into the RP aspects of this system. I'm open to learning and trying new settings, but I'm already pretty familiar with the major tropes in American sci-fi, fantasy, westerns, kung fu, and superheroes. My anime experience is somewhat limited to JRPGs, Dragon Ball, Ghibli, and Pokemon. Horror, in general, I am less versed in, but I'm willing to try just about anything. I'm interested in playing all sorts of characters from action heroes to tragic villains to stoic hermits to dimwitted comic relief and beyond. Really diving into new roles and characters is my passion, so I can't wait to get started!
Hello +Gm/Player +EST I've been Gming for about 3 months now, and I've been a player in multitude of TTRPG's since I was 15 Years old, so it's been about 5 years now. I plan to GM a lot more, and hopefully find more Fate Games to play.
Hello there - Thank you very much for inviting me to join. I'm in the GMT zone I am a player with a few games under his belt - not much else - I have just ordered the game from Amazon as I have been gaming with another group who is using it. Just looking to get used to the rules and have fun and then maybe start GMing.

Hello Everyone, GMT -7 (PDT) Player/poorGM Diaspora is the only FATE based game I've played/Run (both once....). The game is basically Classic Traveler with a FATE Engine so think firefly; doing jobs, getting into the occasional scuffles, make enough money to pay for fuel to get to the next job. First session(s) is all about creating the settings (clusters/the Verse) and characters. That in itself is pretty fun. I'd prefer to play on Monday or Tuesday nights. If the above sounds interesting hit me up! Link to book: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/79933/Diaspora Thanks, Jake
Hi there! I'm Gale (she/they). I'm legally blind and thus ask in advance for your patience when it comes to seeing things. As a precursory warning, the ping tool is not a super-reliable way to show me where something is unless your map has a dark background and your ping is a bright color. Light-on-dark is generally the best way for me to be able to see anything. + Player, maybe GM later if I can pick up a good sense for it. + Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) or Daylight Time (GMT-...4?) I've been playing TTRPGs for about six and a half years now, most of that time playing and DMing for D&D 5th Edition, but I watched Wil Wheaton's TableTop episode on FATE and was instantly captivated by the idea of a setting-agnostic game that does away with ability scores, spells, and gold pieces that can't be spent on anything really fulfilling. Unfortunately, I haven't had the best time trying to get a FATE group together. Most of my friends aren't really the sort of creative that lends itself to improvised storytelling and some of them don't really have any appreciation for the tropes that make stories interesting. My time truing to run FATE was fraught with players not engaging, players gatekeeping, players having main character syndrome, and no villain being able to survive an initial encounter. I have, however, had one bright supernova of a FATE experience at Gen Con in 2019, where a guy ran a Final Fantasy-esque one-shot. My misunderstanding of one of the skills he used led to a really funny scene in a casino, everybody played off of each other... it was simply what I hoped FATE would be. I'm hoping that, by joining a community of FATE players, I'll find some people who will engage with the game like that and maybe I'll even try GMing again.

Hey all, My name is Ken, GMT-6, and I’ve played a dozen or so campaigns in a handful of systems over 8 years; with a sprinkling of GMing. Haven't played any Fate yet, most of my experience is in Black Crusade, I want to try more narrative systems and am considering concepts for some intrigue and ingenuity based campaigns. Hopefully I’ll run something for you within the year!

Hello everyone I don't believe I introduce myself. My time zone is EST and I believe that's GMT-5. My role would be either player or GM but I'm new to GMing. My name is Kuro and I have mostly played d20 systems like Pathfinder 2e and have dabbled in narrative systems like FFG Star Wars RPG. But I have always had an interest in Fate specifically Fate Accelerated. So hoping to get my feet wet with system since I have an idea for a couple of campaigns. And thank you for the invite.
Sup, I'm John, and i've been gming things like FATE or PbTA systems for about 5 years now. This time i'd actually like to kick back and relax as a player. GMT+2 time zone. Huge fantasy buff, although i don't mind some space opera or light SF in general. Heavy on roleplaying and seeing where FATE can take us with it's storytelling capabilities. I'd gotten the attention of Hanz from EvilHat by a fb comment once, proudest achievement of my life.
Hi! I'm Dave, based in U.S. East Coast (EST), older than I feel like admitting to but have been gaming on and off since the 80s. I have not played much FATE and discovered it only recently but I have been noodling for a while on a homegrown system that is not as combat centric as e.g. D&D, Pathfinder, HERO, etc., that lets players focus on the story rather than the mechanics while still providing some kind of balance and structure, and when I finally wrapped my brain around how FATE works I realized it is an example of the sort of thing I was looking for, so I'm really interested. I'm not _remotely_ ready to GM but would really love to play in just about anything, to get the feel of how people use the system and also to game with people who (I have to assume) are also more story-focused than combat-mechanics-and-XP-focused. That said, my preferred storylines involve some level of mystery that can be resolved with cleverness and persistence, where a character who just isn't very good at combat can still provide value to a team.
+ Player and GM + Atlantic Standard Time (AST) UTC−04:00 . Atlantic Daylight Time ( ADT ) UTC−03:00 . I'm Jack, a player and DM who's never given FATE a try but is one of my top "to play" games. Looking to hit up a couple of one-shots and then GM some of my own.
Hello All, My name is Dustin Slater I usually go by Charlie or Slater Usually a Player I have dipped my toe into the DM field and I suck but I am learning. I actually have very very little experience with Fate system I did buy the Dresden book to run a game with my kids that never took off. I like playing all kinds of characters but I am usually the thief and trickster in most games. I am open to trying new things. so that's me oh I am an experienced game player have been gaming table top for 25 years, have done some larping and online gaming for about 5.
Hello. Elise here, never played FATE before, only DnD, currently a first-time DM. I want to get into FATE because I've heard of it's flexibility adapting it to various settings, something I really want to try. I live on the east coast of Australia, so that makes my timezone AEST. I don't have a mic or webcam yet so that's a bit of a hurdle, although I am going to work on this. I've download the Accelerated PDF and still need to look at it, but I'm more of a 'learn-as-you-go' kind of player. I'm pretty much down for any type of game for the most part as long as it's not too "adult" (ahem). I actually want to use the system to try and homebrew an Oddworld campaign when I get good enough.
+ Player and GM + Philippine time GMT+8 I'm Patch, a player and GM. I've played Fate a few times in the past. I've run Fate: Accelerated once. Was supposed to run Fate: Core for a group but didn't went through unfortn
Hello everybody, My gaming experience Started plying Dungeons and Dragons in 1984/85 have played D&D, AD&D, Star Frontiers, Chill, Stormbringer, Champions, Car Wars, Battletech, Gamma World and others I have been interested in playing Fate: Core for a long time, I first saw this game featured on Table Top with host Wil Wheaton on you tube. I was really impressed at how versatile the game was. I finally purchased the core rule book a while back but trying to learn how to run the game intimidates the crap out of me. I would like to learn how to play the game here if possible and, in the process, learn how to gm the game. I live in Alabama so the time zone is central standard time. I thing a Star Wars story would be well suited for FATE: Core its where I would like to start since I am familiar with the setting and could focus more on character creation and game play. I know that part of the fun and play is crating the world in which the game takes place. We could still do that but it would not be as hard since we have a wealth of information to draw from. I am open to playing in any genre however so it’s not a deal breaker if it’s not Star Wars. Thanks for your time. -Scott-
