Total of dice rolled vs. target number

It seems to me that there used to be a formula for totaling a roll of multiple dice and then doing a > or < comparison for that total. All I can find on the help page is counting the success of each individual die. This is rather useless for many d6 systems, e.g. Classic Traveller.

you have to group the rolls together with {} and do the comparison.
