18th of Eleint, 1492 (Morning) After a much needed long rest, the party wakes up at the Stonewood Inn. Having Tolben take care of their breakfast needs, the party counts its earnings from the day prior. A nosy patron offers them some advice to try exchanging some of the coins to the Miners Exchange for guild notes, so they don't have to carry so much coin on them. The party agrees this is a good idea; deciding on how party funds should work with breakfast now in their bellies, the party heads off to the Miners Exchange. Once there, the party funds manager Briar hands over 500 gold for their smallest note, making it easier to carry. Briar also sells off the Wand of Pyrotechnics, gaining almost 300 gold more for the party fund. Next, the party heads to the smithy, Kia wanting to use the manticore to see if the smithy can do something with it and her armor. She handed over the armor; the smithy asks she comes back in a few days and he'll have something made for her. After this stop, the party decided to stop by Barthens Provisions to see if there are any further hidden gems in their wares. However, this search was stopped short as Barthen asked if the party likely accepted the quest to bring the loggers camp their supplies since it's getting on in days. The party decided that's what they should do, buy a few supplies before they head off with Barthen's ox, Vincent, and a cart carrying a couple of crates of supplies. Barthen offers them some locations of interest on their map, the camp's location for the items to be delivered, and a hunter's lodge he recommended the party stops at for the night before making the rest of the journey. The party sets off from Phandalin, searching the skies for the dragon and spotting it right above the forest they needed to go. The party, a bit worried, head down the Triboar trail, taking Barthen's advice and heading down the trail towards the hunting lodge. Kia driving and Brair holding the map, they made good headway down the trail; after a good portion of the day, they head north into the forest. Upon entry, they find a boar nearby in a clearing watching them, and the party figured this would be an easy game. Upon attacking, the boar suddenly rushes the party, standing on two legs, as a half-orc tribal disguised under a boar pelt rushes and attacks the party. After Neristina taking a heavy lightning bolt to the side, the party dispatches the half-orc, finding nothing of real value on her body, so they take the boar pelt as their prize. After a couple more hours of travel, the party makes their way to the hunting lodge, where they are met by Falcon, who runs the lodge. He takes them in and offers them free lodging for the night as his stableboy, Pell, takes care of their ox. The party rests for the evening, and come morning; they join Falcon in his dining hall for breakfast. His cook, Corbin, sets out plates of game meat, bread, and wild fruits as Falcon talks to the party about the tribal half-orcs that roam the forest. He warns to be careful of these beasts as they're not to be trusted, tribal and evil in nature; these half-orcs reside in an old manse to the east. He warns them not to go to the manse as it's dangerous and crawling with these half-orc tribals and their walking stick creatures. After breakfast, Falcon has Pell set them off on their ox cart, offering them lodgings if they are in the area. Thanking Falcon, the party leaves and heads west towards the logger camp, no longer seeing the dragon above. Relieved, the party makes their way to the logger camp, finding it eerily quiet and still. The party doesn't make it far into the camp before they felt rumbling underfoot, and they watch as the ground explodes before them and a large burrowing insect leaps out and attacks them. After suffering minor acid damage, the party kills the Ankheg, harvesting its acid sack for later use. This is where the party pauses 19th of Eleint, 1492 (Highsun)
