[PAID][LFP][ExperiencedDM][5E] New Epic Sandbox Campaign Starting Soon - Time Undecided

Edited 1609293293
Hello one and all. My name is Josh, but folks online call me Sol. I'm 25 from the UK, and I'm looking for a new group for my next upcoming campaign! The choice of campaign is still undecided, but I'm excited to offer my players a number of different choices on the setting and module (if appropriate). I currently have a few players signed up already, but I'm definitely excited to bring a few more new fresh faces into my world. I currently run one other group of six experienced players on Sundays, which I've been running for close to two years. I've never missed a session (even Christmas week) , and I'm always willing to adjust my session times for my players. I've been running D&D campaigns for several years now, running a variety of campaigns, for which most of them have ended after a number of years of play. I am known to be a keen role-player with emphasis on voice acting and getting into characters. I love writing compelling adventures, making maps, developing NPCs, and making travel and towns interesting. I have a deep love for books and film, deriving much of my inspiration for my games from Lord of the Rings, the Witcher, Game of Thrones, and the Chronicles of Conan. I also take great inspiration from Arthurian Legend and Mythos, which I find extremely interesting, so much so that I current study it professionally. More recently, I've even started making videos on YouTube doing tutorials for D&D where I talk about some of these concepts, as well as RPG Horror Stories. Here is the link for those who would like to follow me: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuRIabhJ13RCju-5WK3jeow Why is this game paid? I am writing this post today because whilst running my current campaign is a delight, I am interested and excited in the prospect of setting up another new party with fresh, eager adventurers who want to go out and change a world. I am charging a fee of $15 per session for interested players, which seems to be more or less the base rate of experienced dungeon masters that I've seen on here. Considering that's what it would cost for a dominos pizza, I think that seems pretty fair. I've not really done paid DMing much in the past, but I've allowed for players of mine to tip me in some games which has been appreciated. With Covid, and all the other problems facing us all right now, I'm currently between jobs, and still trying to hold down a house and take care of myself and my small family, so charging my players for a great experience seems to be a difficult but necessary choice. I spend a lot of time preparing sessions for my players, so much so that I spent close to 10 hours preparing a large battle for my main group, and I also spend money on creating an exciting experience for my players, so much so that it can sometimes be a detriment to me. I use dynamic lighting, custom maps, dozens of musical tracks, and a variety of interesting books/pdfs that make playing this game far more interesting. It's worth noting that each player is expected to pay for each session a day prior to the session starting through Paypal or another similar service. This gives me time to adjust, and make sure that the session plan is suited to those who are willing and excited to play. I tend to write story arcs for my players, so I'd hate to waste good time in a situation where a player won't be joining us. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. What time? I have no problems running a session on any day apart from Sundays, as that's when I run my existing campaign that I've been running for two years. As far as time is concerned, I'm willing to run a game later into the evening, or even at night-time to accommodate players who are overseas. Afternoons and Evenings GMT time is preferable. I'd personally love to run a game on Friday or Saturday , but I'll leave it up to you, the players, to decide exactly what time suits you. What would your campaign be like? I have ran a variety of campaigns in my time, and I've enjoyed running many of them. Whilst I'm not set on exactly what I'd like to run, I have some fantastic and exciting ideas for my players. As you would be paying for a service, you as players would have the final call on what the setting would be, within reason ofcourse. Here are my ideas listed below: Albion: A world based on Arthurian Legend, surrounding the two humanoid races; Humans and Elves. This would be a land of magical forests, satyrs, mythical beasts, and powerful magic. The player group would either play as the Human Allies consisting of Human, Dwarves and Halflings, or the Elven Sanctum who consist of Elves, Dragonborn, Gnomes, and Minotaurs. Saxifell: This world is based on North Mythology, in a land named Saxifell. Saxifell is a large and vibrant land with various jarls who semi-independently run their lands. The players will be thrown into a land of religious turmoil, politics, and bloody war. Dragons, Giants, and other incredible creatures will be prime for hunting. The group would have the option to play; Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, Elves, Half-Orcs. Pharos: This one is probably my favourite, but this would be set in the Kingdom of Pharos, an Egyptian-themed Kingdom set in the scorching deserts far to the south of civilization. The players will have the option on who they are, but I likely and exciting concept is a group of treasure hunters, here to explore ruins, dungeons, and tombs! Other: I am also willing to run a premade module, such as Curse of Strahd, etc. This will all be discussed at Session 0 if you are interested. Why should I join your game and not another on here? Whilst I'm sure there are other brilliant Dungeon Masters who are running both free and paid games on Roll20, I personally believe that depending on your playstyle and your interests, you'll find me to be a great fit. I go above and beyond for my players, helping them learn the game, write their backstories, even helping them with art (if they wish it). I have lots of simplified rules, as well as fun homebrew content that makes my games truly exciting. I create my own random encounter tables, as well as travelling merchants, special characters, and quests. I reward my players with not just gold and magical items, but with special martial attacks, cool new homebrew spells, and reputation, which allows players to gain benefits which can lead to more lucrative work and rewards which could include running your own castle, tower, temple, or another structure. The sky is the limit with me, and I'd never hinder how far you could soar. If you need anything else to persuade you, just look at the effort I've put into this post. The quality of the post tends to dictate the quality of the game, just from my experiences. I'm interested, what's next? I'm glad you've come this far into the post. If you are interested in applying for this weekly paid ($15 a session) d&d campaign, then all you need to do is reach out to me via roll20 dms, and fill out this small, but important form that is listed below. Testemonial from a long term player Ive been a part of Sols games for a little over 2 years now, and prior to this i had very little knowledge about D&D. He was very quick to show me the ropes and explain how D&D could be more than just a game. His campaigns are well thought out, and are very in depth. They arent just stories, its like taking part in a movie. Sol has a way of encorporating each and every character into his games, making them feel like a part of a thriving world that they were actually born in, instead of just a token on a shoddy map. Character creation is thorough, and makes it easy for you to build a character that you can enjoy playing. Every single detail leads to a bigger plot; like a road with many twists and turns, Sols games are a thrill ride, and will leave you feeling nothing less than impressed. I f you're looking for a game that will not only be fun, enjoyable, worth your time and money, then Sols games are for you. There isnt another DM out there that will give you a fulfilling story and a fun experience like this. - Abi.

One of Sol's players on Sunday. Been part of a pretty regular group for the last year and a half (Abi, above, is another one of them). We go EVERY week, and have only had to replace 1 new player since I joined that year and a half ago; that alone should tell you that even with a bunch of 18+ players, everyone's enjoying it enough that we all make sure our Sundays are always free, and no-one is looking for excuses to leave or miss sessions. He's a great DM and knows how to incorporate everyone in to the game and story. He's good with the build and release of tension, and makes sure that while no reward comes without the effort to earn it, and no endeavour is without risk, there will always be a payoff eventually. He takes a lot of time and effort with you at character creation too to really make sure that your character will have a clear sense of place and purpose within the world (not just hurr durr I'm an adventurer, cus money), while still giving you a measure of freedom to make/play what you want. I've played in games where there was no challenge, or players were overwhelmed with easy rewards. Similarly I've played in meat grinder games where it feels like the DM just wants to torture and control players. Sol's campaigns tend to toe the line very nicely between those two, making sure that every venture is suspenseful, requires engagement and thought on the players parts, but has payoffs in some way for success and creativity. 10/10 would sign away every sunday evening again.
Thank you for giving me some feedback. We've already got some interest in the campaign, so if you'd like to enquire and find out more information, please feel free to reach out.
