Ch. 48: The Bugbear Compound is Visited

Keeton B.: Are we at the most defended entrance?   Devin M.: Olo.   Dungeon Master (GM): well as far as you currently know, one entrance has children playing around, one has at least 3 male bugbears standing around and one appears to be not guarded. You can of course go around the entire compound if you wish, at the risk of drawing suspicion.   Keeton B.: I'd rather just use my wizard eye to search the center   Pandelume the Lama / Sorcerer, using a bit of bat fur, casts the WIZARD EYE Spell! Level 4 Magic-User * Alteration Components V,S,M Casting Time 1  Turn Range 0 Duration 1  round/level:  9  rounds Area of Effect Special Saving Throw None Effects:  When this spell is employed, the magic-user creates an invisible sensory organ which sends visual information to him or her. The wizard eye travels at  30  ft per round, viewing an area ahead as a human would or  10  ft per round examining the ceiling and walls as well as the floor ahead and casually viewing the walls ahead. The wizard eye can “see” with infravision at  10  ft, or it “sees” up to  60  ft distant in brightly lit areas. The wizard eye can travel in any direction as long as the spell lasts. It has substance and a form that can be detected (by a detect invisibility spell, for instance). Solid barriers prevent the passage of a wizard eye, although it can pass through a space no smaller than a small mouse hole (1 inch in diameter). Using the eye requires the wizard to concentrate. However, if his concentration is broken, the spell does not end—the eye merely becomes inert until the wizard again concentrates, subject to the duration of the spell. The powers of the eye cannot be enhanced by other spells or items. The caster is subject to any gaze attack met by the eye. A successful dispel cast on the wizard or eye ends the spell. With respect to blindness, magical darkness, and so on, the wizard eye is considered an independent sensory organ of the caster.   Lo Shan: go ahead and do it less time we spend standing around the better   Dungeon Master (GM): ok use the Pandelume token as the wizard eye ok, you can move it again   Keeton B.: ok   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "What is it you are looking for with your magic?"   Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "They must have a leader; we must always aim for the head."   Dungeon Master (GM): a mongrelman, you don't know yet if he's there on business or a slave or whatever   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Perhaps you should also try to get a rough idea of their numbers if possible?"   Keeton B.: Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "If I had to guess, there must be less than 30-40 of them based on what I'm seeing..."   Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "By the Sage, there's so many of them..."     Dungeon Master (GM): there is what looks like a throne here to your west and what looks like a bed for a pet. None of the bugbears you currently see stand out as a possible leader type, just grunts, females, kids and mongrelmen around   Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "I see a throne; I must be in the right place. There's about a dozen others in this clearing alone."   Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "But what are the Mongrelmen doing here?"     Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Perhaps we need to ask their King that question"   Keeton B.: I moved North   Devin M.: Maybe the mongrelmen are the nub negotiators that Sheila wanted. I think it was Shiela anyway.   Lo Shan: Yes Maybe   Keeton B.: Devin I hope you loaded up on fireballs   Xilicien: I don't know fireball.   Lo Shan: What spells do you have right now?   Xilicien: I have web and confusion for crowd control.   Lo Shan: Those are good   Dungeon Master (GM): ok the location where Pandelume is now looks like:   Xilicien: A few magic missile and Melf's minute meteors. *missiles   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, no description in the book so what it appears to be to you is like a place where a witchdoctor would hang out in but there is currently no one around. other than the nearby kids with an adult   Lo Shan: so they have a throne and a shaman, throne maybe for visits by Horan, that or a leader with attitude   Keeton B.: any time left on the eye?   Dungeon Master (GM): it would last you 9 minutes which is pretty much up   Keeton B.: ok   Lo Shan: how about this we try walking in and asking questions?   Keeton B.: Ok.   Xilicien: Or perhaps some of us go in and ask questions and some of us go part way , but wait outside. Preferably the more least dangerous looking of us would go inside.   Dungeon Master (GM): so you are volunteering Xil?! ;p   Lo Shan: we try going in asking where or who is their leader we want to try to work out a trade deal?
Xilicien: Ignore the word more, that was unintentional.   Keeton B.: Preferably the most dangerous looking go in So they don't get any funny ideas.   Lo Shan: find out what kind of stuff they want?   Xilicien: I'm thinking two of us minimum. The issue with sending the most dangerous looking in is that it may put on the defensive, causing them to hide more information than they may have otherwise. *put them   Keeton B.: I mean; the three of us could go in And do a diplomatic mission We're all in robes   Lo Shan: so Lo Shan Xilixien and the Wizard? Pandalume?   Dungeon Master (GM): and your fake names are curly, larry and Moe!   Xilicien: And we blew ourselves up!   Pandelume the Lama / Sorcerer, cast the CHARM PERSON Spell, at Pandelume! Level 1 Magic-User / Level 2 Druid * Enchantment/Charm Components V,S Casting Time 1  segment Range 120 ft Duration special Area of Effect One Person Saving Throw Vs Spells Negates Effects:  The magic-user can charm only persons, i.e. brownies, dwarves, elves, gnolls, gnomes, goblins, half-elves, halflings, half-orcs, hobgoblins, humans, kobolds, lizard men, nixies, orcs, pixies, sprites, and troglodytes. This spell will affect any single person it is cast upon. The creature then will regard the druid who cast the spell as a trusted friend and ally to be heeded and protected. The spell does not enable the caster to control the charmed creature as if it were an automaton, but any word or action of the magic-user will be viewed in its most favorable way. Thus, a charmed creature would not obey a suicide command, but might believe the caster if assured that the only chance to save the magic-user’s life is if the creature holds back an onrushing red dragon for “just a round or two”. Note also that the spell does not empower the caster with linguistic capabilities beyond those he or she normally possesses. The duration of the spell is a function of the charmed creature’s intelligence, and it is tied to the saving throw. The spell may be broken if a saving throw is made, and this saving throw is checked on a periodic basis according to the creature’s intelligence: Intelligence Score / Period Between Checks 3 or less 3 months 4 to 6 2 months 7 to 9 1 month 10 to 12 3 weeks 13 to 14 2 weeks 15 to 16 1 week 17 3 days 18 2 days 19 or more 1 day   Xilicien: We could perhaps go in, the three of us, yes. If there seems to be a commotion, that would be a good sign for the others to come in.   Keeton B.: lol yall already know what im planning   Lo Shan: works for me   Lo Shan: In that case we try just walking in   Keeton B.: kk Alright, but I'm invisible.   Dungeon Master (GM): Ok, I will say as long as it's humanoid and not undead or magical in nature, the charm person should work.   Keeton B.: nice   Lo Shan: Alright get ourselves a guide   Keeton B.: Let's just approach the entrance then Are the children intelligent?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, bunch up the ones going in and pick the entrance you wish to enter and who you wish to speak to Yes, i would assume similar to normal human intelligence, except for the one named Sheldon   Lo Shan: Charm wont work on him right?   Keeton B.: I bribe one of the children with 3 gold coins   Bugbear Kid #04 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "Hello Mister! are you a merchant?"   Keeton B.: To show us around   Dungeon Master (GM): they have more than 3 intelligence so yes the charm would work the adults have an intel of 8   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "I am a Merchant, yes"   Keeton B.: I stay silent. Is Devin afk lol   Xilicien: No, just not very talkative.   Keeton B.: You wanna move your token we're kinda lonely up here   Xilicien: Up where?     Bugbear Kid #04 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "Oh, cool, though I don't think The Boss is here right now, I saw him go off with Shruzgrap the doctor"   Keeton B.: Two people with names are missing Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "Hello, do you folks have business here? If you want to see The Boss, like the kid said, he's not here at the moment."   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Does the Boss have someone else in charge when hes gone?"   Keeton B.: These bugbears are really polite Can't believe I was about to fireball them   Xilicien: Is he okay?   Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "He He He, No he does not. Only he can give the orders around here."   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "We were hoping to talk to the Boss, I'm a Merchant, I wanted to know If I might be able to sell you some stuff I bring here"   Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "I see. He knows more of what we need. I know food is one thing for sure."
Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "Is there anyone besides the boss who has any power here?"   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Perhaps we can come back later then"     Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "You can maybe go see if Shruzgrap and maybe The boss are over at Shruzgrap's Aerie."   (From Keeton B.):  I have Horan's head on me, by the way.   Keeton B.: Let's go see Shruzgrap   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Where is that located?"   (To Keeton B.):  So you skinned it and wearing his face?!   (From Keeton B.):  hehe no, it's wrapped in my backpack   Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "eh, you must be new in town then. Very well, it's over by" I need to check the city map   Bugbear #01 -I1e The Bugbear Says, "It is just north of the Temple of Set. Do you know where that is?"   Keeton B.: Is that another location? I'd rather just wait... Since we've scouted half this place out   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Oh Yes, We have been there before"   Xilicien The Elven Magic-User Says, "I think so, but just to be safe, could you describe it to us?"   Dungeon Master (GM): well of course it is another location ok hold on   Xilicien The Elven Magic-User Says, "Oh, never mind, he seems to remember."   Keeton B.: Why did the party come this city in the first place   Dungeon Master (GM): It's a U shaped building, you can't miss it as it's just north of the Temple of set, says the bugbear   Lo Shan: We were asked by some former inhabitants to clear out the Yuan Ti and other evil beings along the way we heard about treasure here   Keeton B.: Are bugbears evil   Xilicien: Often.   Lo Shan The Human Monk (Oriental) Says, "Thank you for your help"   Dungeon Master (GM): to go back farther than that the original group came to the island to look for the city as told by Zoldathra the wizard Bugbear says, "You are welcome."   Lo Shan: (That was before I joined the game)   Keeton B.: brb my chat glitched   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Lo Shan: Time for a change of map   Dungeon Master (GM): yes it was ok, so we head to the witchdoctor's place   Lo Shan: Yes   Keeton B.: yes   Xilicien: Yes. afk   Keeton B.: let's knock   Dungeon Master (GM): ok you see two double doors along the east side street   Xilicien: btk   Lo Shan: knock knock   Dungeon Master (GM): hmm, getting an error but ok someone on the other side answer with, "Go Away, we're busy."   Xilicien: Doin' stuff...   Lo Shan: Does the door look weak or flimsy?   Dungeon Master (GM): neither   Keeton B.: I cast Command And say "Open"   Dungeon Master (GM): looks to be a solid iron bound wooden door you need to visually see your target the door is closed   Keeton B.: do i tho   Xilicien: Yes.   Lo Shan the Monk (Oriental), Attacks with the FLYING KICK (3ft) at Lo Shan enemy! Strike Hits an AC of  0 This spectacular kick requires at least five feet of running space. The character leaps high into the air and leads with a powerful kick to the head (or head height for larger than man-sized creatures). If the kick connects, the character does triple normal damage:  5  S/M/L If unsuccessful, the character falls to the ground adjacent to the intended target and must spend a round getting back to his feet (unless he also has Prone Fighting or Instant Stand).   Xilicien: Don't we have rogues or perhaps someone with knock prepared? honestly...   Keeton B.: I don't have it prepared
Dungeon Master (GM): Maximillian is a thief   Keeton B.: I thought we were diplomatically entering?   Lo Shan the Human Superior Master, attempts to gain entry, by PICKING OPEN a LOCK! Result Whispered to DM   (From Lo Shan):  OPEN LOCKS Roll:  26 % Needs ≤  52 %   Keeton B.: Is this a straight fight?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you unlock the door   Xilicien: If the door remains intact we can have a "diplomatic" meeting. If the door is busted down, then if someone comes by, they can see what's going on in there.   Keeton B.: Alright, let's go in   Lo Shan: Going inside   Dungeon Master (GM): ok as Lo shan opens the door, two wide eyed guards are now menacingly glaring at you and take a defensive stance   Xilicien: Web?   Keeton B.: lol why are we fighting   Dungeon Master (GM): Guard says, "This better be good. What do you think you are doing here?"   Keeton B.: I pull out two 500 GP gems And give them to the guards I say that the Boss should be expecting us   Maximillian Rockatansky The Elf (Drow) Fighter/Thief Says, "We are on a mission"   Dungeon Master (GM): Bugbear guard says, "Nice gems, but we no take. What is your business here or do you need to see the sharp point of a blade to leave?   Lo Shan: Should have been Lo shan   Keeton B.: Alright, if this fails we're gonna fight, ok guys?   Dungeon Master (GM): Guard says, "What sort of mission is this then?" when i try to say something i get this: TypeError: r is undefined   Keeton B.: Who is that down the hall? Can I see? That looks like an animal and a unique guy   Dungeon Master (GM): oh i see why it's a generic token not linked you see at least one other guard and what looks like a really tall bugbear in fancy dress with a big wart hog nearby   Keeton B.: Alright How high is the ceiling And those are 5' square?   Dungeon Master (GM): say, 20 ft high and 5 ft per square   Keeton B.: 20 ft? dang   Dungeon Master (GM): that's pretty much how high up the others have been   Keeton B.: perfect my fireball fills a space of 33k cubic feet   Dungeon Master (GM): this was once a fancy city   Lo Shan: cast fireball down the hall   Keeton B.: the hallway is only 26k cubic feet Lo Shan, distract the guards and hold the door; I begin to recite the dread incantation...   Lo Shan: that means it will blow out the doors   Keeton B.: I fire it to the end of the hall   Dungeon Master (GM): heh, it's actually bigger than that, since they won't let you step inside yet that is all you see   Keeton B.: And we take cover on the outside oh that's not a hallway?   Dungeon Master (GM): heck no   Keeton B.: its just a big box building? LOL   Dungeon Master (GM): granted the one bugbear said 'U-shaped' building   Lo Shan: cast it at the big guy and his pet   Keeton B.: I'm going to cast stinking cloud on him actually.   Lo Shan: sounds good then we go in   Dungeon Master (GM): i'll widen the view some more   Keeton B.: Actually my range isn't that far ah   Lo Shan: then just cast fireball   Xilicien: What do you think of confusion, close the door, wait til the commotion stops, then go in?   Keeton B.: I know where I'm casting I marked my spot   Dungeon Master (GM): i see your mark   Keeton B.: I begin to recite the dread incantation   Dungeon Master (GM): stinking cloud you said?   Keeton B.: Fireball 20' radius   Dungeon Master (GM): oh a fireball   Keeton B.: I can't reach with stinking cloud   Xilicien: I thought dread incantations were for necromancy.   Lo Shan: Pulls out the bat guano and sulphur

Keeton B.: eyes roll into back of head, begins to murmur lowly I'm gonna need somebody to block these guards from doing something Lo Shan you mind standing in front of me?   Lo Shan: Dont mind I can dodge   Keeton B.: its a 20' radius sphere btw so since there's a floor...   Dungeon Master (GM): as soon as Pandelume beings to recite the spell, the guards react to hearing what sounds like a spell being cast by charge straight out the door at you   Keeton B.: good thing lo shan is blocking them   Xilicien:   Dungeon Master (GM): roll init rolls Only First Roll is shown to save space sigh my bugbears are messed up i can't init into the turn order   Keeton B.: looks like they lose fireball time   Dungeon Master (GM): hell i can't even do it from the DM journal hold on i need to try and fix things   Keeton B.: cromther is doing pretty well with a -7   Keeton B.: heh fools to even attempt to attack me   Keeton B.: LOL   Keeton B.: Xil you wanna fire a magic missile at the guy with the dog   make them check morale first round lol     Keeton B.: make sure he dies?   Keeton B.: wart hog* Keeton B.: yea thats the boss   Lo Shan: Confusion is good on the front guards   Keeton B.: we can handle the front guards if we kill the boss first round, that's a huge advantage   a waste for just two guards   Keeton B.: also confusion is 4" x 4"   Dungeon Master (GM): things are very sluggish on my end when i try to input anything Start of Round 1 Start of Turn 1 for Yuan-Ti Half-Blood (6)   Keeton B.: i swear to god if the yuan ti snipes me   Dungeon Master (GM): that area is now in darkness   Keeton B.: beats me to finishing a 3 segment spell from a murmur outside a door ofc my grey elf can see through darkness fireball time   Dungeon Master (GM): if any of you can understand bugbear, the two guards are swearing at someone Start of Turn 1 for Zhora (4)   Xilicien: But can he see through magical darkness?   Dungeon Master (GM): she moves up near the door
Start of Turn 1 for Xilicien (4)   Keeton B.: ah no he cant well I know where I'm shooting I've been looking at the target the whole time   Dungeon Master (GM): no you can't see through that   Xilicien: I probably would have aimed further, but I imagine I can't due to the darkness so I intend to aim where I estimate the center to be.   Keeton B.: "The magic-user points his or her finger and speaks the range (distance and height) at which the fireball is to burst. "   Xilicien:   Keeton B.: I already knew the distance and height   Dungeon Master (GM): ok but still i will have it go from 1-10 ft from where you aimed   Xilicien the Enchanter, using a set of 3 nut shells, cast the CONFUSION Spell upon Bugbear #09! Level 4 Magic-User * Enchantment / Charm Components V,S,M Casting Time 4  Segments Range 120 ft /  120 yds outdoors Duration 2  rounds +  1  round / level:  9  Rounds Area of Effect Up to  60 ft x  60 ft square Saving Throw Special Effects:  This spell causes confusion in one or more creatures within spell range, creating indecision and the inability to take effective action. Confused creatures will react as follows: Die Roll Action: 01–10 Wander away (unless prevented) for 1 turn 11–60 Stand confused for 1 round (then roll again) 61–80 Attack nearest creature for 1 round (then roll again) 81–91 Attack druid or his party for 1 round (then roll again) 92-100 Act Normally for 1 round (then roll again) It will affect  13  creatures, plus a possible additional number of creatures determined by subtracting the level or number of hit dice of the strongest opponent creature within the spell range and area of effect from the level of the magic-user who cast the spell of confusion. All creatures affected will be those closest to the wizard within the area of effect. Each affected creature must make a saving throw each round, unless they are caused to “wander away for 1 turn” in which case they will go as far away from the magic-user as is possible in one turn of normal movement, as conditions permit. All saving throws are at -2. Confused creatures act according to the table of actions shown above, but saving throws and actions are checked at the beginning of each round.   Keeton B.: i can now fire into the darkness and set the fireball to detonate at the distance I wanted which is 80 feet The magic-user points his or her finger and speaks the range (distance and height) at which the fireball is to burst.   Dungeon Master (GM): since that is right near the door and then haven't reacted yet i will let you have that so jsut that one or both of them?   Xilicien: Both if it can be helped.   Dungeon Master (GM): i'll let you just nip the one farther back   Keeton B.: I fire the ball 80' forward leaning slightly right   Keeton B.: at a height of 10' above the ground   SAVE VS. "   Dungeon Master (GM): that was when you had visual contact yes   Xilicien: Have you considered the height of the door frame, though?   Keeton B.: yes i'm firing at an angle are you telling me the yuan ti   Dungeon Master (GM): I wouldn't worry to much you still hit everyone in the back half of the bldg   Keeton B.: finished the darkness spell before I even realized I wanted to cast fireball and calculated the distance, degree, and height I kept my eyes on the prize it's 20' radius so I would miss the wart hog   Dungeon Master (GM): so aside of 4 guards everyone else will get blasted   Xilicien: Remember a 20' radius is 40' across.   Keeton B.: the guards at the front? ye   Dungeon Master (GM): roll the fireball spell macro please

Effects:  A streak flashes from the pointing digit and, unless it impacts upon a material body prior to attaining the prescribed range, flowers into an explosive burst of flame, which detonates with a low roar!! The burst of the fireball does not expend a considerable amount of pressure, and the burst will generally conform to the shape of the area in which it occurs, thus covering an area equal to its normal spherical volume. [The area which is covered by the fireball is a total volume of 33,510 cubic feet (or yards) (33.5, 10-foot × 10-foot × 10-foot cubes)]. Besides causing damage to creatures, the fireball ignites all combustible materials within its burst radius, and the heat of the fireball will melt soft metals such as gold, copper, silver, etc. Items exposed to the spell’s effects must be rolled for to determine if they are affected. I go around and start haggling 20k GP for both of them lmao   Dungeon Master (GM): I don't know it doesn't not say but it's Int is 13   Pandelume: 84-89 13 2 primary abilities empathy that's the type of sword it is an Int 13 sword with empathy and 2 primary abilities Heal and Detect Invisibility   Dungeon Master (GM): you likely won't get more than 60% of it's value if even   Pandelume: DMG P. 166 Ok, 20k * .60 = 12k lel   Dungeon Master (GM): ok read about the sword the module has E: 4 so i think that is Ego   Pandelume: that makes sense it gets 1 ego point for its +1, 1 for its primary ability, and 2 for an extraordinary ability according to Table 7   Dungeon Master (GM): ok i see that   Pandelume: this sword is weak for ego 4 since the detect invisibility primary ability is constant when its drawn and the heal extraordinary ability is 1/day
Dungeon Master (GM): the module shows once a week   Pandelume: Ok Does it say detect invisibility once a week too?   Dungeon Master (GM): is armed with a sword of wounding (I 13, E 4, AL CN, empathy, detect invisible, heal once per week)   Pandelume: ok so it heals once a week but it communicates through empathy and can detect invisibility constantly   Dungeon Master (GM): ok yea do it that way   Pandelume: otherwise it ok Can I fight with a sword?   Dungeon Master (GM): if you are proficient with it   Pandelume: Is it a longsword? I have one open proficiency slot But I am a Cleric, albeit a cleric of an elven god.   Dungeon Master (GM): For  5  S/M or  3  L Damage! that is it's damage   Pandelume: woah the s/m looks like either a broad sword or a bastard sword but the large damage could only be a longsword   Dungeon Master (GM): probably a long sword   Pandelume: Ok, will you let me be proficient in long sword even though I am an Elven Cleric of Labelas Enoreth That is not strictly BTB, so Chris would want me to ask   Dungeon Master (GM): if the book is saying a cleric of Labelas cant' use it then no   Pandelume: 1e just says the default cleric can't I am a cleric, but I'm not human, so its up to you   Dungeon Master (GM): typically blunt weapons   Pandelume: kk, so no?   Dungeon Master (GM): no then   Pandelume: Can I still use its abilities without fighting with it?   Dungeon Master (GM): yes   Pandelume: Kk I'll keep it then   Dungeon Master (GM): that or just give it to someone else whom can fully utilize it, maybe exchange items if possible   Pandelume: I'm the healer So having heal 1/week is good for me to have   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Pandelume: Ok I haggle now lol   Dungeon Master (GM): the original damage is listed as 1-8+3 so looks like he had a +2 strength bons   Pandelume: ah too bad he never got to use it   Dungeon Master (GM): at least on the party   Pandelume The Grey Elf Magic-User Says, "Well good Merchant, I will sell you these masterwork paintings for 20,000 gold pieces!"   Dungeon Master (GM): the merchant looks at the paintings and a look of absolute dread is seen on his face. He quickly rolls the paintings back up and hands them to you, telling you to leave and to say you never met!   Pandelume: ... I take out Horan's head and very very discreetly show it to him "There's no need to worry about him anymore." "Now pay up, or you'll meet the same fate."   Dungeon Master (GM): Now he looks at you in absolute horror as does folks nearby then there is shouting from other for guards to come!   Pandelume: lol so they saw it? but I said very discreetly no roll?   Dungeon Master (GM): 25% chance:  14   Pandelume: is that good or bad lmao   Dungeon Master (GM): yes more than the one you were dealing with recognized the head   Pandelume: I thought 25% chance was the chance it was discreet since you automatically had them see it so it was closer to 100%   Dungeon Master (GM): you gonna take off or stay put? 25% chance someone else also saw the head   Pandelume: lol but it was automatic before? okk I guess I cast invisibility and run through an alley or something   Dungeon Master (GM): very well, you got away   Pandelume: idek where I am lol well shit ig nobody cares I killed a wizard they're still gonna try and come after me hahaha   Dungeon Master (GM): did you run back towards the mongrelmen compound?   Pandelume: no I went invisible on the spot and then ran perpendicular before doubling back to the compound making sure to climb over something solid to get rid of my tracks   Dungeon Master (GM): you were somewhere down along the main market street there   Pandelume: k so do I make it back or am I slain by Horan's legions of undying followers   Dungeon Master (GM): you made it back   Pandelume: also I remember that merchant's face
Dungeon Master (GM): of course   Pandelume: I'm going to flay him alive and then heal him Alright well shit If I can't rip off the merchant's Might as well rip off the mongrelmen I cast divination   Dungeon Master (GM): well he might have been put between a rock and a hard place   Pandelume: I want to see how many mongrelmen there are in the camp and where their shit is Seeing as they've been zero help to me so far   Dungeon Master (GM): why? as you are there, it's your base   Pandelume: We're totally friendly with them? Also why did the merchant recognize these paintings from Horan's bedroom?   Dungeon Master (GM): yes, especially because a former adventure is now the king   Pandelume: Will the mongrelmen freak out if I show them Horan's head? In a bad way   Dungeon Master (GM): I can't really tell you but every merchant has to visit his compound   Pandelume: And go into his private bedroom to fuck him?   Dungeon Master (GM): no they will not, they will be very happy that at least he's gone now   Pandelume: Ok   Dungeon Master (GM): ha!!!   Pandelume: But srsly to fuck him?   Dungeon Master (GM): you never know   Pandelume: because now my big secret is out so they better be fucking   Dungeon Master (GM): ha ha!   Pandelume: alright, since you cockblocked me on the paintings... I make a big spectacle in front of the mongrelmen And pull out Horan's head I had a speech ready Idk if you want to hear it?   Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d100( 28 ) = 28   Pandelume: It's kind of out of date   Dungeon Master (GM): you can make the speech when the others are here   Pandelume: But I demand tribute for killing their greatest enemy and threat The powerful wizard Horan Bring me all your shiny things, so I may pick the three greatest shiny things   Dungeon Master (GM): ha!   Pandelume: And lacking shiny things, I will take a big pile of gold. I like wands, staves, rods, rings, potions, etc.   Dungeon Master (GM): roll your charisma on that but i sure won't know what to have them bring you   Pandelume: Come one come all   Dungeon Master (GM): they won't have anything magical   Pandelume: What do I roll Ok I'll double check to see if they're filching their savior No worries   Dungeon Master (GM): well a charisma check   Pandelume: I prepare a detect magic anyway just a d20?   Pandelume: brb in ten seconds gotta rejoin chat glitched CHARISMA CHECK For Pandelume the Magic-User Rolls:  11  Needs ≤  16 that it's under your abilitycheck macro   Pandelume: ah looks like I made it anyway thanks DM alright bring out the treasure lmaooo   Dungeon Master (GM): ha! i'm not making your roll for you, as you are here!   Pandelume: I was gone lel   Dungeon Master (GM): it was rolled before you were gone! it was lagging   Pandelume: fine fine hehe im gonna be so mad   CHARISMA CHECK For Pandelume the Magic-User Rolls:  3  Needs ≤  16 very good success   Pandelume: excellent you might say nearly a critical in fact   Dungeon Master (GM): ok so they will bring you coinage and maybe some gems they stole   Pandelume: Oh they're thieves? And they have no magic? Ok ;)   Dungeon Master (GM): I'll roll it later, yes they are, they are widely well know to be thieves not these ones no   Pandelume: I cast detect magic, anything magical in the pile?   Dungeon Master (GM): nothing will be magical no   Pandelume: What about on them?   Dungeon Master (GM): nothing magical
Pandelume: Jesus These mongrels are very poor   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, let's stop here now!   Pandelume: Ok   Dungeon Master (GM): well yes, they are enslaved by all the baddies here   Pandelume: Do they have slave houses or whatever? I'll search them next time   Dungeon Master (GM): well the original module did not have slave houses they were just depicted among their slavers   Pandelume: Oh so they just live in the open?   Dungeon Master (GM): pretty much   Pandelume: I scan the entire area, and if I truly find nothing, then I will use the money they give me To buy them weapons and armor They will be free men once more   Dungeon Master (GM): you don't really have to do that due to the money that was scored at the colliseam   Pandelume: Are they all fully equipped?   Dungeon Master (GM): and the raid on the military warehouse yes pretty much so now   Pandelume: and there was no magic from either of those places I'm gonna give my speech next time and rally them   Dungeon Master (GM): i'm not going to change their weapons on the sheets however as it will take too much time   Pandelume: Before the guards can trace it back to me   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Pandelume: Cuz they're probably having a manhunt So they're fully equipped? Plate and shield and sword?   Dungeon Master (GM): that there is for sure and not just you of course you can imagine pretty much they are but like i said i am not going to go change it all, it's too much time to do   Pandelume: Ofc Well idk what to use their money for I don't really want it lmao   Dungeon Master (GM): your 100 gp pearls   Pandelume: It's ok How much is it do you think In terms of range So I can write my speech Like look at how impoverished your masters have made you" etc.   Dungeon Master (GM): that sounds good   Pandelume: is it a big pile or small pile Just make it pitifully small ok like 213 gp and a 50 gp gem   Dungeon Master (GM): I will just take the typical treasure you find with mongrelmen and make rolls from that but nothing magical   Pandelume: Ok ;) but make it small lol gn great game   Dungeon Master (GM): ok good night and thanks for playing !
