Hello! I hope this holiday season is going well for you all. Our small group of five is looking to add a sixth person. Currently we have four PCs and myself as DM of our current campaign. We've played together for more than two years and have had a great ride so far. I've had the joy of DMing for this fantastic group for the majority of 2020 while another in the group DMed Dragonheist and Dungeon of the Mad Mage for the year and a half plus prior to me taking over. Campaign: The setting itself is a homebrewed world that yours truly conjured up about a year ago. The world is 362 years old, extremely young and is directly being seen to by the small pantheon that resides over it. The world has been split into six continents and each of these landmasses is the direct domain of their presiding Gods. Due to the limited size of the pantheon these deities have a far more broad range of domains as there only sits these six Gods. The world itself is a moon that orbits a gas giant known as The Eye of Selune or often referred to as "The Eye". It is often seen as a comfort or a reassurance. The current party is level five and consists of a human Alchemist Artificier who specializes in crafting potions to either support or outright heal the group. A dwarvish Lore Bard with a large lute and a bigger ego. An Air Genasi Planar Warrior Ranger who's cool head is literal and figurative. And a Mutagen Blood Hunter Yuan-ti who excels in poison craft and cults. Currently, a massive undead horde has claimed half of the realm of Torm and threatens to push deeper into his territory. Inching ever close to the capital of his realm. With this threat, the group has been tasked by the speakers to find scrolls hidden in each of the realms. -The speakers are people individually chosen by their respective God to commune daily with them and put forth their will into the world. -The group has found three of the six scrolls and is currently in pursuit of the fourth. -This will be a high level campaign and will hit level 20 by the end of the campaign. The group on the whole is UA and homebrew friendly. -For this campaign we used a flexible character creation system that allowed our PCs to better realize their character. -As DM, I always maintain DM's prerogative to make adjustments to the game. We tend to lean towards rule of cool. -The campaign is Milestone, and we use R20 for our VTT and Discord for Audio/music. Audio is required. -We may change from R20 later down the road if a platform comes along that functions better for our group. Though, currently there are no plans to do this. -We are an RP focused group, while combat does happen and it is regular it may be a couple of sessions between combat from time to time. Our Group: Our group is a rarity in the online TTRPG scene and we understand that. That said, while we want to expand the group our highest priority will be keeping the group together. If you end up starting drama, being an ass, or being inappropriate we will ask you to leave. We will not hesitate to do this. We ask you be punctual, all of us are online and ready to play about 5 to 10 minutes before game time. We play Saturday at 7a.m. PST but we don't restrict based on timezone. I'm in AKST, we have some in, PST, EST and Central. On average we play four hour games and do play weekly. We ask you be able to make the majority of the games. We understand life happens and not everyone can make every game and we're happy to accommodate that within reason. If someone can't make a game we'll first try to reschedule the game to Sunday and then if that won't work we'll continue on down a player with someone controlling the combat actions of the missing player. We are a more mature group ranging in ages from 26 to 39, we all have lives outside the game. Work, family, hobbies, kids, and the likes. While we enjoy TTRPG's we don't always know all the rules off the top of our heads. Even if you disagree with a ruling and know you are right, I ask you bring the issue up after the game through a PM and not fight about it in the middle of a game. Our time is already restricted enough and we don't want to spend it adjudicating rules for a game. Not to say the rules aren't important, because they are, and am receptive to being corrected about rules if I've ruled incorrectly. Three of us have actively DMed and do vary slightly from each other as DM, so when someone else decides to DM for a one-shot or a different campaign keep in mind they're far less likely to shoot from the hip than I am. Please do know the difference between a character and a player. Try to avoid metagaming as much as possible, we know it happens and we're good about catching that with each other. While sexuality is a real thing and does happen, that is not the point of the game and factors very little into it. If a scene like that arises, the scene will fade to black. If you want more than that then this isn't the game for you. Likewise with violence, if you're wanting something more intense than Kill Bill, then this isn't the game for you. We use Discord regularly outside of the game for general banter and nerdiness as well. We will ask you to keep it in that realm. We do not discuss politics or other heated subjects. There are plenty of other platforms for those kinds of discussions. Despite the mountain of text above, we're a very laid back group who have had the joy of having a good friends to play with. Interviews: We plan to do this is through voice interviews via Discord. This posting will be up for two weeks after posting date and we'll contact people about Discord voice interviews as we see posts come up. These will likely be short 15 - 30 minute interviews where myself and a few others from the group will talk with you and get to know you better. We're not worried about player experience, newer players are as welcome as experienced players. If you've read all this and are still interested in the group, please post below with a short summary about your experience playing TTRPG's and a character concept you're hoping to play with this campaign. Please don't write too much about backstory because that's best left to be discovered in the game.
