Dark Sun/Star Wars appropriate map suggestions?

Hello everyone, I run a charitable YouTube Let's Play channel which is dedicated to introducing accessible, fun games to fellow disabled/chronically ill gamers. Virtual tabletop has become a big part of what I stream; I believe the social aspect sets it apart as a fantastic choice for our often isolated subset of the tabletop community. It has long been an aspiration of mine to stop solely streaming myself playing in the campaigns of other GMs, and to instead GM them myself for the channel! I have plans written out for two games, a game set in the Dark Sun D&D setting and another set in Star Wars. The former will be an ongoing, "living world" game, whereas the latter is a very long campaign. I can create tokens for critters and NPCs, that just takes time. So, for the good cause of the channel and campaigns, I ask you... Please help me find theme appropriate maps for these games! I need as many as I can get my hands on and in good variety. Star Wars is Star Wars, so anyone who knows that would know the sort of thing to look for. For Dark Sun, it's a world reduced to a scorched landscape with vast dune seas, but there's more to be seen than sand. Oases, city-states, forgotten ruins of dead civilizations, camps in the desert and the throne rooms of mighty Sorcerer-Kings and Queens. Even forests and jungles full of life and water are viable maps, but these places are especially rare. If you have any ideas for good, affordable packs (irony of helping out other disabled folks is that my own funds are a bit limited, too), I'd welcome them! Please feel free to reply or to PM me, and thank you very much in advance. Oh, and if you happen to be running any games like these, please also contact me - especially Star Wars! I've wanted a non-FFG Star Wars game for ages, SAGA or D6. Thank you again!

Hello - Meanders Modular Battlemaps has all of the features you describe with packs very well suited to Dark Sun or Star Wars. There are huge sci-fi packs with space themed settings and all of the rooms and areas required for such adventures from slums to holo training simulators to cyberpunk and blade runner, alien motherships and planet surfaces. For a very reasonable price you can buy a single pack and arrange them together to make millions of combinations. There are Oases, camps in the desert, ruins of dead civilizations, forest, jungles and over 1800 individual giant sized maps designed to fit with one another to make impossibly large worlds in seconds. And you are free to stream games using meanders online, run campaigns with them in your twitch or youtube with no worries. Additionally - you can be assured that Meanders will be continually expanding with 300+ maps added to the series in the last 6 months alone. Take a look at any pack to see the diversity, range and endless adventure Meanders offers anyone using VTT. Game Tile Warehouse | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming Additionally - a Star Wars specific Meander map set is part of the 2021 line-up in my map series. Likely to be launched after Wild West, Gotham, Modern City 2 around April. Specifically in your case I would recommend one of the Meander Spaceship Skin Packs which lets you load the giant ship with Meanders so as to make a spaceship that you choose the rooms for: slotting them into the holes to make the perfect layout plus letting you set your adventure nicely in space and a variety of sci-fi settings. Meanders Digital Skin - SPACESHIP II | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming $6.99 Then Spaceport which will give you a very broad range of interior and exterior options with most of the major shops, industries, areas, regions one would expect to find: Meanders Map Pack SPACEPORT | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming $12.99 Sammerket Sands for your Dark Sun needs: Meanders Map Pack SAMMERKET SANDS | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming $12.99 And as a broad stroke to hit many types of terrain you could choose Idlewilds I with a huge variety of modular terrains to add on to the above Meanders Map Pack THE IDLEWILDS I | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming $12.99 Or my popular: 110+ piece terrain assortment with more than one hundred 10x10" terrains. GTW Digital Terrain Tilepack | Roll20 Marketplace: Digital goods for online tabletop gaming $12.99 A combination of these should suit your needs well providing a hundred appropriately themed and re-usable maps without breaking the bank. And if you decide you need more, there is no shortage of themes and settings.

LunaticDesign has several free Star Wars maps on Reddit, there's a whole subreddit for free Star Wars maps (which you are unlikely to find here due to the copyright on it... I do not think you can actually publish a Star Wars set, but generic sci fi stuff maybe). I have only one pack that might be useful for you. https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/5671/road-through-the-mountains-map-pack It's got some preset wilderness oasis things and a bunch of raw rocky terrain and road/river/lava pieces to put on top of it. In theory, you can use it and some other pieces to make hundreds of battlemaps, though it's not quite as modular as Meanders or Gabriel Pickard's sets. It's cheap though! Only $4.99, several pre-set battlemaps and a bunch of pieces that would let you make variations!

I can vouch for Tiffany's maps - they are very nice. I'm going to send you a private message Legacy Ark.
I just wanted to extend my thanks for all of the help with some awesome map suggestions! This should provide me with quite the arsenal of theme appropriate maps and tiles to build campaigns upon. Thank you as well, Kris, for letting me know both about your pack and where I might also find some non-generic Star Wars maps. Not that one can't easily take generic stuff and make it Star Wars! :)

Thank you, Kris, though I think for this purpose yours are nicer due to being highly modular. Mine are just designed to be cheap packs that you can use to make dozens of variations for those moments when you're like 'ugh I just need some wasteland for a dragon to descend upon'. My best work isn't in the Roll20 shop (at least not yet!) Here's a random freebie nightclub I made that might be useful for a Star Wars game!
